Shall we?

I, Patrick, have returned in order to supply you with the best tunes around. Speaking of which, you should probably all pay me for what I'm about to bestow upon you... But that can be discussed after you download each and every one of these songs:

Let's start this off with some energy. Get up, stand up, now dance.

We're gonna slow it down for the next 3 min. and 55 sec. with a groovetastic original track

This is a song composed by Holy Ghost! covered by Friendly Fires ft. the DFA celestial choir. Honestly, what more could you possibly ask for?

It's not Saturday night yet, but when that time rolls around you're gonna want this song on hand.

I was never a Killers fan, but this remix really gives you the full synth treatment that you so deserve. Now smile like you mean it.

This string laden symphony of a song tosses in a little grit for the perfect blend of sweetnsour.

I saved the best for last: Bit Funk, despite his handicap of being a Canadian in US borders, really has his stuff together. Funkfunkay bassline + cats = better than you (check out the vid below)

And once again, never ever forget:

Love, Patrick

Don't Worry

Whattup everyone, PK here. I'll get right into the nitty-gritty with this post. If you have any doubts about the songs I'm about to bestow upon you, refer above.

Anything that bears this Atlanta based DJ's name is a must-have for me, but this is just extraordinary. Check it.
Treasure Fingers - Lift Me

DCUP keeps poppin' up here on Bright and Shiny, a testament to the groove-inducing power he has over his listeners. This Airwolf remix is no exception.
DCUP - To Be in Love (Airwolf Remix)

Don't really know much about either of these artists, but I still love this song. It really comes into it's own late in the track, so be patient, and you'll find it's well worth the wait.
Teeth - See Spaces (Dreamtrak Diamond Sound Remix)

I'll change things up here with some more serious electro. Again, you might have to wait a little for it to really hit its stride, but when it does, it's bonkers.
Evil Nine - Ultimo

Here's some certified electro-funk from Eumig & Chinon, who have been shakin' up the blogosphere recently with their new EP, "Crash"
Data/Debt - California Special (Eumig & Chinon Remix)

Gigamesh makes Mike Posner's vocals tolerable. End of story.
Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me (Gigamesh Remix)

And finally, I leave you with an absolute banger of a track from Swedish duo Dada Life. This one is sure to get the crowd going when the drop hits.
Dada Life - Cookies with a Smile (Original Mix)

Happy Thursday!

Late Night Jams

I'll keep it short and simple. This is late night music. You know, the type of stuff you want to be listening to in a parked car somewhere at 3 in the morning, or on the drive home from a ragetastic shenanigan-filled night. Soak it up.

The name says it all for this first one.

This next song is an absolute classic. If you don't already have it, shame on you (but download it and start loving it as soon as possible).

While everyone knows that Deadmau5 songs like Strobe and I Remember make for great late night listening, most people aren't familiar with the progressive house goodness of his deeper cuts, like these next two. (Warning - play as loud and with as much bass as possible)

Although this next track doesn't quite fit in with the bass-pumping tunes I've been giving you, it's one of my favorites and definitely deserves to be on any legit late night playlist.

This one is a little low key, but nonetheless a good late night progressive house tune.

This song takes a minute or so to build up.. but once it does, it's straight BOMB

Late Night Alumni are great.

When Kaskade and Deadmau5 team up, you know you're in for some seriously progressive and deep late night tunage. While this one doesn't live up to the epicness of I Remember, it's still a great track. Give it a minute or two to build up.

HOMEWORK
Now for some bonus homework from the Bright & Shiny School of Music, this next track is the absolute opposite of a late night jam. It's a bonafide club-destroying banger of a song. Mixed by JFK from MSTRKRFT, this is a song that you should listen to at your own caution, as it has been known to cause face melting and spastic body movement amongst other physical symptoms. If you do choose to attempt this homework assignment, the only requirement is that you play it as loud as your speakers will allow.

DJ Chuckie (Dutch House -- Netherlands)

Beginning with his Dirty Dutch club nights in Amsterdam, Dutch DJ Chuckie has cultivated a unique sound with his clinical productions. In a genre where progress is made either of a technical or lyrical nature Chuckie has achieved both in his music, creating an entire genre of his own and leading his fellow countrymen to worldwide recognition. Since the genre has gained popularity one thing has become increasingly clear: nobody's dutch sounds are as compelling as Chuckie's glitchy, tech-jungle beats, derived in part from his apparent love of Chicago acid house. Nothing is out of place, every hi-hat and errant "bzzzrp" has its purpose in his soundscapes; the roots of Suriname-born Chuckie are evidenced by the favored afro-latino drum patterns in his work. A genre with a decidedly global bent in this, the internet era of instant globalization, dirty Dutch house is a disease: an infectious, antibiotic-resistant, pandemic disease. But I like it.
Now, enough with all this formally written nonsense. The fact of the matter is that every single one of these songs are absolute fire. Download them and play them loudly-- you will not be disappointed. All props are due to Augustus (who you may get to know if he ever decides to post) for introducing me to this first song in early March, beginning my insatiable addiction to Dutch House.

Chuckie - Aftershock (Can't Fight the Feeling) (Original Mix)

Dondria - You're the One (Chuckie Remix ft. Jermaine Dupri)

Nari & Milani & Cristian Marchi - I Got My Eye On You ft. Luciana (Chuckie Remix Edit)

Chuckie & Hardwell - Move It 2 The Drum ft. Ambush (Original Mix)

Enrique Iglesias - I Like It ft. Pitbull (Chuckie Remix)

Sidney Samson - Shutup and Let it Go ft. Lady Bee (Chuckie Remix)

Pendulum - Witchcraft (Chuckie Remix)

3OH!3 - My First Kiss ft. Ke$ha (Chuckie Remix)

Mohombi - Bumpy Ride (Chuckie Remix)

Luis Lopez vs. Jesse Lee - Is This Love (Chuckie Remix)

Sergio Mauri - Everybody Dance ft. Janet Gray (Chuckie Remix)

Merry Tuesday

Uh oh it's August

It's Patrick again..

It's August now boys and girls. The weather is hot, the air is humid, and it's time to relish the fleeting days of summer in the best way you know how; blasting good tunes.

Everything Everything - MY KZ, UR BF (Grum Remix) [Removed by request]

This track is from the sound track to Quentin Dupieux's (Mr. Oizo) new movie entitled Rubber. Mr. Oizo, a 36 year old french music producer with Ed Banger Records, collaborated with Justice, and specifically Gaspard Auge to create the soundtrack. In the November 2009 issue of Mixmag, Justice stated that they had to finish working on this soundtrack before beginning to record their new album.

After gaining respect for the remixes he made for world-renowned artists such as Steve Aoki, Major Lazer, N.A.S.A, The Shoes, autoKratz, Tom Deluxx, Royskopp to name only a few, LaTourette released two tracks on CocoMachette Rec (USA/NY).
