All Night
Boston Bun goes in on this remix for Maelstrom's new EP on French label Sound Pellegrino. The laziness of the synths contrasted with the track's persistent high-end make for a feeling something like futuristic sushi. Check out the rest of the release on beatport 'cause it's damn near bulletproof. Bright & Shiny favorites include the Hacker remix of "uSSR" and Coni's tech house interpretation of "House Music".
Maelstrom - House Music (Boston Bun Remix)
This next one from the duo of Polish Berliners known as Catz 'N Dogz is a Class-A Party Starter. Warped synths ascend as the track grabs your attention, a faint R&B refrain provides added sexiness, and then, all at once, the track is plunged into the low-end: this is where you dance. Check beatport for the just-as-good B-side (a veritable master-class in current bass music), or watch the hysterically cute video below.
Catz 'N Dogz - Professor Nice Love
To get the crazy flowing, we turn to Brodinski. This is the kind of Boys Noize-esque electro/techno us circa-2006 bloghaus heads fiend for. Simple, effective, infectious, this song hammers out the groove-- perfect for the club or a festival setting. For all our Chicago readers, French masters Brodinski & Gessafelstein will be playing The Mid, March 16th, alongside the legendary Treasure Fingers. Get tickets/info here, and be sure to keep an eye on the blog for a chance to win free tickets to the show next week.
Yuksek - Off The Wall (Brodinski Remix)
Closing out is a track I stumbled upon courtesy of the great Maya Jane Coles. This remix from Paraguayan outfit Wowogueros is an absolute monster. When Ms. Coles drops it on the unsuspecting peoples of Miami, you can see this results: the searing bassline rattles eardrums, the repeated "YEAH"s stirs the crowd into a frenzy; the whole club goes gorillas. Watch below.

What You Need
This Boys Noize remix from last year managed to get overlooked by a lot of people, but recently it's found its way into heavy rotation on my stereo. Some classical electro a-la 2008 style. I could totally see this one killing a peak time dancefloor if dropped properly.
download: Sebastien Tellier - L'amour Et La Violence (Boys Noize Euro Mix)
Treasure Fingers and Malente released a collab EP earlier this week on Defected Records and it is, as expected, absolutely bomb. My favorite track off the EP is the title track, Crusaders, which manages to perfectly harmonize Treasure Finger's smooth funk with Malente's more off-the-wall, four on the floor sensibilities. The B side, Au Revue is definitely worth your time as well. Full release on beatport.
download: Treasure Fingers & Malente - Crusaders (Original Mix)
Bonus time: Botnek turn the batshit craziness up to 11 here, as per usual from the Canadian duo.
download: Tocadisco - Bat3ria (Botnek Remix)
Be sure to check the full EP on beatport for some other equally massive remixes, especially the deliriously groovy Stefano Noferini effort which you can stream below.

To the Rhythm
Somehow I just discovered Croatian DJ/Producer Mladen Solomun in the last couple of months. To put it simply, this guy knows what is good. I don’t think I’ve listened to a track of his that I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed. I meant to post some more of his music along with the Noir & Haze remix I posted a few weeks ago, but I couldn’t fit them in. So here are couple more, of what I’m sure will be many, Solomun jams. The first one, a remix of So Phat!, is well, just that: phat. The second is a tech house monster I first heard in a Sven Väth video so you know it’s legit.
Download: So Phat! – A Love Bizarre (Solomun Remix)
Download: Solomun - Sisi
I’m back with another Wildkats song. This time the Brits edit Daft Punk’s “Face to Face” off the classic Discovery album. They’re giving it away too, so snag it here.
Whats Goin On - (Daft Punk Edit) - Free Download by WILDKATS
The Swiss house crusaders, Round Table Knights, never fail to get the people clappin’ on the dance floor. This Monkey Safari remix is surely a testament to that (hint: more cowbell is the secret ingredient). Grab it on beatport tomorrow when it gets released.
Monkey Safari - Kiss The Birds (Round Table Knights Remix) by Round Table Knights
It’s been a while since I’ve heard anything from Sharooz, but just yesterday I stumbled upon this new track called Persistence of Time. His typical mayhem infused electro has returned and leaves you wondering why you were just repeatedly smashing your head against the wall. I’m not sure when this track will drop, but I’ll make sure to keep a look out. In the meantime check out our interview with him for an overview of all that is Sharooz.
Sharooz - Persistence of Time by Sharooz
Earlier this month Treasure Fingers did the mix of the week for Mixmag. It’s a private mix on soundcloud so I can’t share it directly, but do yourself a favor and GET TO IT HERE. Tracklisting is available in the description and you can download it FO’ FREE! If you have any previous experience with the sound of Ashley Jones then you already know what it iz yo. Dive in.
The last song off the Treasure Fingers mix is a Dublin Aunts remix of the Australian band Jubilants. Some great bass lines and guitar riffs in there.

I'm not nervous, she's not nervous

Interesting post today. Some new stuff, some old stuff, a few mixes. Embrace.
This little gem was released this past November on Simian Mobile Disco's Delicacies. It's more than a bit techy, but as you guys can probably tell by now, B & S seems to be going through a tech house phase lately.
Simian Mobile Disco - Skin Cracker
Cosmonaut Grechko has tried his hand at fantastic track by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. He's transformed it into a dreamy candy land filled with bell synths and upper register melodies.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Maps (Cosmonaut Grechko)
Com Truise is awesome. He recently put out a great original track that I have here for you today. I really enjoy the instrumentation and the chord progressions. He gives the track a Washed Out esque feel to it that soothes my currently exhausted self.
Com Truise - Slow Peels
The last two tracks I have for you today are actually quite old, but amazing none the less. Yelle just released their new single, Safari Disco Club, check it out for sure (it's freeeeee). Overall, my favorite Yelle track has got to be Ce Jeu. The Tepr remix (which has been posted before but deserves it again...) absolutely knocks it out of the park.
Yelle - Ce Jeu
Yelle - Ce Jeu (Tepr Remix)
The second part of this post is comprised of four new mixes that I came across on SoundCloud. All four of them are free (!!!) and you can download them all directly from the artists' soundcloud pages as well as acquiring the track lists. Have at them.

This is an exlcusive mix that Nightriders did for Les Petits Bruits, a fantastic blog with a sexy layout to boot.

Bonus:
Oliver uploaded a new original track to his soundcloud about a month ago, and I just go around to listening. Much like most of Oliver's material, this disco house is nothing short of superb.

Rollin' Deep
Starting real slow today with some fantastically oddball beats. Jamie xx of the award-winning new wave/pop group the xx brings his gorgeously minimal aesthetic to Adele's beautiful vocals as the song is propelled by afro-latin drums and those haunting bells the xx are known to favor. If you loved the xx remix of "You Got The Love" you're gonna love this one, too. And I must say, I fucking LOVE this song.
Adele - Rolling In The Deep (Jamie xx Shuffle)
This next track sounds like a love child resulting from an affair between Neon Indian and Flying Lotus. Fuzzy, sun-soaked synths and ethereal yet sassy vocals color this track from Tobacco and Zackey Force Funk.
Tobacco - Lamborghini Meltdown ft. Zackey Force Funk
These next two are the kinds of crazy electro tracks I'm sure you used to getting from me, the first from Canadian John Roman and the second from one of the most technically talented electro/dubstep artists in the game, Skrillex.
John Roman - Sphere
Casxio - Seventeen (Skrillex Remix)
Disco of Doom took this track and turned it into a slow-burning electro funk exhibition. A+ work from these filthy British gentlemen.
Kele - Everything You Want (Disco of Doom Remix)
Bright & Shiny Hall of Famer, Treasure Fingers, takes a break from the nu-disco circuit to try his hand at crafting house music. And how deftly he does it, employing classic house synths like a seasoned pro. If there was ever any question concerning the depth and versatility of Treasure Fingers' talent, it has assuredly been put to rest.
Senor Stereo - I Am the Beat ft. Louisahhh!!! (Treasure Fingers Remix)
Prevalent house vocalist Miss Kittin kills it, solo, on this track with a minimal, old-school feel. This one's for the househeads.
Miss Kittin - All You Need (Original Mix)
And last and most certainly least (due exclusively to its association with Ke$ha) is this electro-banger by Artistic Raw & Loopers. In the words of a wise YouTube commenter, "this song is even dirtier than Ke$ha."
Ke$ha - We R Who We R (Artistic Raw & Loopers Remix)

stars so bright.
Today we're gonna start off relatively soft and get ravier... sorta.
When Penguin Prison isn't making beautiful remixes he makes some of the best pop music around, and from his bedroom at that.
Kimbra - Settle Down (Penguin Prison Remix)
Boris Dlugosch is a pro in the game and for good reason. His productions are consistently funky and French house inspired dancefloor fillers. Try saying his last name five times fast.
Hey Today! - Strange (Boris Dlugosch Remix)
Treasure Fingers always knows just what to do. I put this on the blog weeks ago, but was only able to offer you a link to the song on soundcloud. Here it is, downloadable and in full quality. Look for literal perfection at 4:28. And if you're fortunate enough to be in the LA area, go see him and many more Bright & Shiny favorites at Nocturnal this weekend!
Tensnake - Coma Cat (Treasure Fingers Remix)
Evil Nine hail from the UK and like to make real house music, complete with delectable piano stabs.
Evil Nine - Stay Up (Original Mix)
Everything Kids At The Bar touch turns to filth.
Deluka - Cascade (Kids At The Bar Remix)
Rave music.
Fckn Crew - Discoke (Bullwack Remix)
This new Foamo single is tribal yet fidgety. Incredible tune, he's done it again.
Foamo - Here Comes (Original Mix)
More tribal drums, this time from Jamaica... or wherever it is Diplo draws his wonderfully eccentric inspirations.
Proxy - 8000 (Diplo Remix)
Hip-Hops
I have a refreshingly bizzarre array of hip-hop to share with you all today. This first track is from the Gucci Man himself, featuring warm production from Pharrell and a sick verse from Ms. Minaj.
Guccie Mane - Haterade ft Pharrell & Nicki Minaj
Next is the Bearmod remix of a track by Haitian rapper Mr. OK. This beat is otherworldly.
Mr. OK - Yaya ft. Larose (Bearmod Remix)
Finally is a track by Seymour Bits, featuring walking internet memes Die Antwoord on the beat.
Seymour Bits - Spectacular ft. Die Antwoord

[UPDATE 3.0: Chemical tunes n remixes available at bottom]
the Chemical Brothers
I was effectively a zombie by about halfway through the Chemical Brothers' set on day 1 of Electric Zoo. Somewhere between the extreme exhaustion I was feeling at that point and the profound truth that was being poured on me via the medium of danceable beats and deeply moving visuals I lost my ability to both move and speak. Augustus and I conferred on the matter and decided that we were almost senselessly imbibing the draught the Chemical Brothers had brewed us that evening. Naturally, I started rambling into my memopad on my Bold in order to record my fleeting yet transcendent thoughts on this disturbing spectacle before me. Trust me, this live show is disturbing in the sense that it disturbs the very basis of your ego and thought, but in the most positive way imaginable.
Now let me say that first and foremost, errbody in the place was jumpin'. I am a connoisseur of the Chem Bros and have never heard their beats sound so bassy, so funky, so fresh. They opened the set with "Galvanize" which, as the poppiest venture of their career, would have upset me greatly had it not sounded like the second coming of Christ. I can confidently say I have NO IDEA what they were doing up there, but every song sounded like a revelation when compared to it's studio-produced counterpart. They are creating a beautiful electronic album, an artistic whole, during each performance and very well at that. Take notes, deadmau5.
Chemicals
the Chemical Brothers - Swoon (Radio Edit)
the Chemical Brothers - It Doesn't Matter
the Chemical Brothers - Saturate
the Chemical Brothers - Block Rockin' Beats

Don't Worry
Anything that bears this Atlanta based DJ's name is a must-have for me, but this is just extraordinary. Check it.
Treasure Fingers - Lift Me
DCUP keeps poppin' up here on Bright and Shiny, a testament to the groove-inducing power he has over his listeners. This Airwolf remix is no exception.
DCUP - To Be in Love (Airwolf Remix)
Don't really know much about either of these artists, but I still love this song. It really comes into it's own late in the track, so be patient, and you'll find it's well worth the wait.
Teeth - See Spaces (Dreamtrak Diamond Sound Remix)
I'll change things up here with some more serious electro. Again, you might have to wait a little for it to really hit its stride, but when it does, it's bonkers.
Evil Nine - Ultimo
Here's some certified electro-funk from Eumig & Chinon, who have been shakin' up the blogosphere recently with their new EP, "Crash"
Data/Debt - California Special (Eumig & Chinon Remix)
Gigamesh makes Mike Posner's vocals tolerable. End of story.
Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me (Gigamesh Remix)
And finally, I leave you with an absolute banger of a track from Swedish duo Dada Life. This one is sure to get the crowd going when the drop hits.
Dada Life - Cookies with a Smile (Original Mix)
Happy Thursday!
-PK
