Amazing vibes, per usual, courtesy of Poolside. This is the first track off their debut album, slated for July 9th. Free download doesn’t hurt.
Walker & Royce came through with a couple debut singles and a Francesca Lombardo remix for one of them just a few days ago. These two Brooklyn boys have been working magic as of late so definitely keep an eye on them. Go to their soundcloud and get a taste if you know what’s good for you.
I accidentally bought this song before I listened to a preview and had a fleeting moment of regret. Then I was like ‘oh wait, I’m an idiot, this is a DJ T remix. His shit is golden 110% of the time all the time’. Now go make the same mistake I made and check out the other magnificent releases on Get Physical’s “Full Body Workout Volume 9” release.

A shot of liquor and a cigarette can work wonders, just stay away from bears.
Chicago remix with a little less "Chicago" than the original.

Alakhazam
Volta Bureau - Hope (Stream Only)
The second is a killer dance floor filler from Bit Funk. Upbeat synth stabs and a fat fat bassline center around a wonderfully ironic vocal sample...and the whole thing's free. You have no excuse, download this.
Bit Funk - Rap Music
Goddamn, Shazam. That's really the only thing I could think when I heard the Perth based producer's latest remix attempt, this time tackling Pase Rock's "Nights". A bit slower than his usual stuff, maybe, but certainly just as stellar. Run into the moonlight and groove to this one.
Pase Rock - Nights (Shazam Remix)
Browsing Beatport DJ charts almost always provides me with excellent tunes I probably would never have stumbled upon anywhere else. Take this Poolside remix for example. The dudes responsible for the perfect daytime/nightime/anytime jam "Do You Believe" serve up this little number, decked out in nostalgic 90's chords and intricate percussion. Check beatport here for the remix and it's accompanying dub.
James Curd pres. Ziggy Franklin - Alien (Poolside Remix) (Stream Only)
My beatport journeys also coughed up this one from Alfabet, the collaboration between Tom Trago and Awanto 3. I literally cannot stop playing this song. I know this gets said often in the music blogging world, but if you don't at least nod your head to this, I think you have a problem. Oldschool house stabs build into a drop of some of the fattest percussion I've yet heard, seeming to suck you in with each kick. Definitely worth the $1.50 charge here.
Alfabet - Waus Mucic (Stream Only)
Since you may not be satisfied with only two of those songs above being downloadable, I'll leave you all with my opening set for the Justin Faust show in Saint Louis. Plenty of good tracks in here, and it's all available for download, so no complaining.

Glassed
I actually meant to post this a ways back, but it must have slipped my mind. Coming off of the absurdly massive Miami Noize 2 compilation on BNR, "Glass" combines that frenetic techno sound we all know D.I.M. & Tai bring to the table with an almost funky melody.
D.I.M. & Tai - Glass (Original Mix)John Poincarre is a name I've just recently come across, and given that his website is entirely in French, I don't know too much about him. What I've gathered though is that he know a thing or two about making fine ass disco house, as proven by "Get Up, Yeah!" whose sample you may recognize from Foamo's "Generate Some Heat".
Boston duo and Bright & Shiny hall of famers Nightriders can do no wrong, it seems. This recent remix they did for Cassian has it all, knocking drums, a catchy vocal sample, and quirky synths that build into a drop of one of their signature groovy basslines.
Poolside's "Do You Believe" is the perfect song with which to welcome some warmer weather and more sun: a slow, light-hearted romp with hints of an 80's vibe and a sing-along chorus that you'll be glad you can't get out of your head. Also check out the James Curd remix on beatport, he kills it.
New Dada Life released today. Though I find the vocals a little too cheesy, no doubt this one hits hard. Support it on the beatportal.
Now, if you're like Patrick and myself and you missed out on all the Ultra festivities this year (again) or you just want to re-live the experience, check out pretty high quality recordings of sets from Afrojack, Avicii, and other big acts at beatmyday.com. Thanks to Khiz for the heads up on that.
