Gigamesh's new All My Life EP on French fashion house/record label Kitsuné is some serious heat. Ranging from sun-soaked nu disco, to moments of almost-psychedelic dream pop, this release really has it all. Aside from the title track, this B side "Dream On" is probably my favorite one off the EP. Check it out below and be sure to head over to Beatport for the full release.
download: Gigamesh - Dream On (Original Mix)
This next track comes off of another equally amazing release. Mat Zo's The Sky EP on Anjunabeats is plain old incredible, and shows him exploring the interplays between classical trance and various other sub-genres on the electronic music spectrum. The EP comes with two mixes of the track - the club mix, which is absolutely huge and takes the song in a Nicky Romero face-melting electro direction, and the chiller Extended Mix, which is my choice of the two. Beatport it for the full ra-leece.

Everybody loves some new Disclosure. Well, this one isn't quite new, but I bet you haven't heard it. An obscure edit of Q-Tip (of Tribe Called Quest fame)'s solo effort 'Work It Out'. Half Fidget house, Half bass-twerked electro, and completely freakin' booty shaking.
download: Q-Tip - Work It Out (Disclosure Booty Call Edit)
More hip hop influence, this time on the deep house side of things with a classique from Adana Twins and Doctor Dru. RIP Biggie...
download: Adana Twins & Doctor Dru - Juicy Fruit (Original Mix)
Also thank you Heidi for dropping this SUPER MEGA RIDICULOUS BOMB-of-a-track during her set on BBC the other week..This release is about to be a straight dancefloor murderer (drops first week of June)..
Mas music coming later today..

Cruising
I found this track while perusing Soundcloud the other day, I was truly smitten from first listen. B-Ju is a German producer that has released on several different reliably excellent labels including Dirty Bird and Squelch & Clap. The particular track that I'm featuring today, a remix of 'Erotic Dancer' by Wool & Cerebral Vortex, is a wonderful UK Funky/UK Garage track that was recently put out by Sounds of Sumo. It starts off a little slowly, but right around the 1:25 minute mark, the percussion and synth lines kick in for a masterful display of production abilities. Stream it below and buy the remix on Juno:
[Buy the release here]
Master of all things disco, Gigamesh just seems to effortlessly pump out electro funk as it were as simple as breathing. This sun-splashed nu disco remix track is exactly what I needed this morning on my walk to class. Being the generous man he is, this track is free free free. Take it now.
[Free download here]
MJ Cole is a British house and UK garage producer that tends to live on the deeper side of things. His latest remix is of a tastefully picked T.E.E.D. track entitled "Tapes & Money". He creates a deep, percussive, yet up-tempo remix that features the T.E.E.D. vocals b-e-a-utifully amidst a landscape of progressive house-esque synth work. I really love the momentum on this track. The Beatport release is set for April 15th, but 'heart' this song on Soundcloud and be ready to buy this shit because it will fit perfectly into any dance floor set.
If you liked that track, you'll most likely enjoy this 30 minute MJ Cole mix:

Summer Styles
Now that we're in the middle of the summer, I've noticed a strange phenomenon taking place. The more pool parties I go to and long days at the beach that I spend (with subsequently longer nights) the more and more addicted I find myself getting to the big room, hands-in-the-air house sounds of artists like Avicii and Swedish House Mafia. Everyone's already heard every song by either of those a million times though, so today I'm gonna focus on a couple newer, lesser known jams that still fall into that same category. All of these songs are selected to be the soundtrack for any summer situation, be that a sun soaked pool party during the day, the depths of a bumpin' dancefloor in the middle of the night, or some sort of festival setting like the picture above. Enjoy.
We're a little late on this one, but you know what they say right, better late than never? Anyway, this track 'XOXO' is a ridiculously massive BOMB from Russian house group Swanky Tunes. Listen to the drop at the 1 minute mark to see what I mean. This is straight up the catchiest song I've heard in a long while. Show the group some love and grab it off beatport HERE.
Swanky Tunes - XOXO (Original Mix)
Sultan & Ned Shepard always seem to bring the heat when they team up together. This track is simply good vibes all the way through. Really nice vocals from Angela McCluskey too. [Beatport Release]
Sultan, BT, Morgan Page, Ned Shepard - In The Air ft. Angela McCluskey (Extended Mix)
Every part of this song just shouts 'fun in the sun' to me. The vocals from CSS are so darn catchy, add that up with the magical stylings of Californian producer Dillon Francis and you have yourself a summer anthem. Keep your eyes out for the official release sometime this week.
CSS - Hits Me Like A Rock (Dillon Francis Remix)
It should be no surprise to anyone that Laidback Luke absolutely crushes this remix.. So I'm going to take this opportunity to talk about the artist behind the original, GTA. They're a duo based out of Miami who are relatively new and completely unheard of, but mark our words within a year or two they'll be one of the biggest names in house. Everything they've done so far is completely massive, I was talking to Sir Real one time and he even went so far as to say they're gonna be the next Swedish House Mafia. I honestly wouldn't be that surprised, have a look at their soundcloud here to see why: http://soundcloud.com/wearegta. Check the release for this remix on beatport here too
GTA - U & I feat. Zashanell (Laidback Luke Remix)
This mashup manages to take the new Britney Spears single and transform it into something that's not only listenable, but actually ridiculously catchy and huge. I know it's hard to believe, but have a listen for yourself below:
Britney Spears - Till The World Ends (DJ Dan Liu 'Troucid' Mashup)
I know this track is waaaay old and most of you already have it. But recently I've sort of rediscovered it and completely fallen in love with it all over again. Why doesn't deadmau5 make music like this anymore?? We may never know. For those of you who don't have it already, grab it below before you do anything else, this is a straight up classic..
Medina - You & I (Deadmau5 Remix)
These last three are more on the downtempo side, perfect for lounging around by the pool or straight relaxing wherever you may be..
Newly formed, Washington DC based group Volta Bureau have come up with a chunk of pure auditory gold on this track. No joke, I've listened to it like 10 times today already. Summer vibes if I've ever heard them. For everything you'd ever want to know about the group, check this article (definitely recommend reading it, it's quite interesting): The Washington Post on Volta Bureau
Volta Bureau - Love Cubed
We posted a Fred Falke remix of this track a little while ago that was pretty great. This is probably one of the few instances in the world though where someone else's remix actually manages to top the Falke effort. Newcomer producer out of LA, Baby Monster (funny ass name..) completely takes this track to a new echelon. See for yo' self below
Wolf Gang - The King And All Of His Men (Baby Monster Remix)
On a different note, I wanted to quickly let you all know about a really cool website/company that one of my good friends is working for and helping to develop. It's called Findthebest.com and basically it helps you compare the prices and qualities of different things so you can find the best one. You might be asking yourself, "Augustus, what does this have to do with me?" Well, if you're in the market for any number of music related things this site is really great for helping you find the right stuff. For instance if you're trying to become a producer but aren't exactly sure which music software to get, you could use the service to compare the best music editing softwares (click the link to check it out). Or if you're in need of good headphones (this is aimed at all of you out there who have been listening to today's post out of your laptop speakers, shame on you) you could go there to find the Best Headphones. Have a look, I promise you'll find it helpful.
Last but not least this one is for all of the Radiohead fans out there. Radiohead will always have a special place in my heart because they were one of the first bands that really pushed me to be embrace music off the beaten path and often electronically inspired, which probably ultimately led to me being able to love house music so much. Genius producer Gigamesh takes the classic 'Everything In Its Right Place' and subtly twists it into a total dancefloor beast. Listen to it from the very beginning, the first drop is soooo satisfying.

Watch out, watch out
London based producer SBTRKT has been concocting quite the repertoire of original tunes, all the while remaining anonymous. He even performs behind strange tribal masks in what I can only assume is an attempt to let the music speak for itself. Either way, I bring you two tracks that he recently released. The first track features an amazing vocal line from the lead singer of Little Dragon, Yukimi Nagano. She was born and raised in Sweden to a Swedish/American mother and a Japanese father... which makes her soulful R&B voice all the more riveting to listen to. This track is somewhere between electro and dub; it really has a unique feel.
On the second track, we have yet another interesting vocalist, Sampha. He is complemented by some deeeeep bass synths and energetic percussion. At a mere 2 minutes and 54 seconds, this song leaves you wanting more.
Steed Lord has an upcoming EP that is set to be released in June. They uploaded a track from this EP to their sound cloud a week ago and since then I haven't been able to get enough. Funky, fresh, filter house just in time for summer. Buy the high quality version of this track here. Check out those fantastic chopped vocal bits around the 3:40 mark.
The newest Kitsune Compilation #11 was released not too long ago. This compilation is aptly named the Indie Dance issue and I could not be happier with my purchase. Be sure to stop by their site to check out everything they have to offer. Here are my three favorites from the collection just to give you a taste:
T.E.E.D. - Household Goods (Justin Martin Remix Edit)
Beat Connection - Silver Screen
The Touch - Sermon
Beat Connection - Silver Screen

They also have a fantastic clothing line. Here's a promo video for their 2011 Fall/Winter collection.
Now for a bit of shameless self promotion... I uploaded one of my own dj sets to my SoundCloud a few weeks ago. If you like electro music, especially house, I would wager to say that you'll enjoy this mix. Track list below. Download here if you wish: Block Party Set Part 1

He Has Spoken
Quick. Take these. Hurry.
Ed Banger All Stars, Busy P and DSL, come together on this uncharacteristically down tempo remix. I am extremely pleased.
Futurecop! does it again. Welcome back to the 80's.
Not only does Breakbot continuously create top notch remixes time after time, but he chooses such quality tracks to reinterpret.
Gigamesh is doing a lot right these days. Once again, enjoy.
Miike Snow puts on a great live performance. Here they take a very interesting original track and do it some serious justice by creating an true electronic sound scape.
Happy Holidays or whatever it is you celebrate...

Black Friday
Hope everyone had a great time celebrating the systematic destruction of hundreds of Native American men, women, and children. Haha no but really... I hope you did. Here are the tracks that you've been needing for that playlist you've been meaning to make.
I have something special for you guys today. My meanderings through Soundcloud have rewarded me with many a fantastic track, but a couple of days ago, I stumbled upon an artist with so many fantastic tracks, I basically need to show you his entire disco funk ensemble. All the way from Sydney, Australia, I bring you Flash Mode.
He's done a series of remixes that really mesh well with my ears. Not only do I thoroughly enjoy his adaptations, but I also really love all of the original tracks that he decided to remix.
I want to show you his first original track, but unfortunately he hasn't included the 'embed' option on his soundcloud, so you're gonna have to actually go to his page and give it a listen. Now remixes are one thing; a reinterpretation of an already formulated idea... But this, my friends, is one helluvan original. He really gets down and dirty. The chord progressions, the funky bass line, the cheesy 80's synths, the excellent production quality. Here's the link: Redshift
Never heard of these two boys, '96 Bulls, but based on this awesome remix of this Little Red track, I can't imagine its the last we see of them.
Treasure Fingers remix of an Eric Prydz track... Need I say more?
Breakbot just kills it regardless. I love him. You all should love him too. He's got them production skills like my heroes Daft Punk. I think he makes music specifically for me...
The C90's haven't exactly been on my radar until now. This little remix really gets the job done. Also if you stop by their Soundcloud, you should pick up their awesome November mixtape (free download!).
Poka has shown up a few times on Bright and Shiny. He really nails that french touch. With its chopped vocals and intro from Fear and Loathing, this track pushes itself to the top of my playlist.
Never heard of Turbogaz, but I'm really diggin' his remix of Homeboi's Schrimps (AWESOME original track btw).
Bonus y'all:
Go Go Bizkitt! is on a constant music making rampage, and no one is complaining. Now I Crave Paris has been so overplayed, but his reinterpretation gives it the face lift it needed to work its way back into my daily rotation. Enjoy.
I really tried to find a DL link for you guys on this one, but you're just gonna have to wait for the release. Thanks Gigamesh.

Walk, don't run, to the nearest exit
First up we have a very elegant track by DiscoTech. This trio consists of Miami based DJ/Producers Joe Maz, Danny Daze, and Gigamesh (!!!). They have quickly gained notoriety and are getting plays from DJ's all over the globe. Look out for these boys.
Kindness is a UK band that doesn't seem to release very much information about themselves. As far as I can see, they're a quirky disco minimalist 80's dreamwave pop group. Whoa. Ok you decide.
The French just seem to know where it's at music wise. This French rock/electro duet caught my attention because of their genre crossing style. Props to Destronics, especially for their well shot music video for This Night A Soldier.
This 8 minute track really eases you into things with its relaxed demeanor. My man Axwell rarely disappoints though, so give this one a listen. Those guitar riffs are worth repeating.
This last one by Them Jeans is unadulterated depravity. Try not to lose your sanity, I dare you.
Bonus:
Happiest synths. Get'em while they're hot.
No joke, I was blown away by this Sebastien Tellier video. So imaginative.

Don't Play With Matches.
If you got a pair of headphones. You better get'em on and get'em cranked up.
Gigamesh just put this up on his Soundcloud 2 days ago out of the kindness in his heart, and as usual, his amazing disco renditions are exactly what I need to get into the Friday swing of things.
I don't know much about this Arizona based DJ that goes by the name of Mercurius FM, but I'd keep an eye for him in the future.
Hemingway's myspace is awesome. His music is awesome. Thus, he is, by default, awesome. And Canadian.
Bag Raiders just came out with their excellent self titled debut album on Oct. 1. Pop music done right guys.
Maur Due & Lichter is an Austrian duo that actually released an album, Another Day, not too long ago. This is a shining example of how to remix an already amazing Zero 7 and Jose Gonzales song.
Cassius never fails to put out good tunes. Cassius Records is in take a guess..... Paris, France. So French. So French.
Fare Soldi literally has the midas touch. See for yourself. Then again... LBCK did quite a job with the original.
Bonus:
Knights is actually still a child. But that don't matta because he's a wiz producer at such a young age.
3D Mapping Projects... Simply Amazing:
This the hilarious new video for Holy Fuck's 'Red Lights'. If you like cats, you're gonna wanna watch this.

Don't Worry
Whattup everyone, PK here. I'll get right into the nitty-gritty with this post. If you have any doubts about the songs I'm about to bestow upon you, refer above.
Anything that bears this Atlanta based DJ's name is a must-have for me, but this is just extraordinary. Check it.
Treasure Fingers - Lift Me
DCUP keeps poppin' up here on Bright and Shiny, a testament to the groove-inducing power he has over his listeners. This Airwolf remix is no exception.
DCUP - To Be in Love (Airwolf Remix)
Don't really know much about either of these artists, but I still love this song. It really comes into it's own late in the track, so be patient, and you'll find it's well worth the wait.
Teeth - See Spaces (Dreamtrak Diamond Sound Remix)
I'll change things up here with some more serious electro. Again, you might have to wait a little for it to really hit its stride, but when it does, it's bonkers.
Evil Nine - Ultimo
Here's some certified electro-funk from Eumig & Chinon, who have been shakin' up the blogosphere recently with their new EP, "Crash"
Data/Debt - California Special (Eumig & Chinon Remix)
Gigamesh makes Mike Posner's vocals tolerable. End of story.
Mike Posner - Cooler Than Me (Gigamesh Remix)
And finally, I leave you with an absolute banger of a track from Swedish duo Dada Life. This one is sure to get the crowd going when the drop hits.
Dada Life - Cookies with a Smile (Original Mix)
Happy Thursday!
