Monday Mode
It's Monday, so I'm feeling getting a little deep with it right now. The homeboy Sir Real directed me to this hypnotically good track earlier today... all i can say is if you don't like this song you probably are on this website by mistake right now.
Forthcoming on Futureboogie, this is the latest from Bristol ballers Behling & Simpson.
I have to say, if there is one ongoing tragedy in my life it's that this masterpiece (as famed from Julio Bashmore's BBC Essential Mix) still only exists on vinyl:
Speaking of songs I'm dying to get a full [320] quality copy of...
And so you don't have to leave empty handed, I've recently been re-obsessed with this summer anthem by self proclaimed "gangsta house"-ers Puente & Rosch. A little history, this track first rose to notoriety during what was apparently somewhat of a shamanic set by Damien Lazarus on the famed DC10 Terrace this summer and thereafter became a staple for the rest of the season on the island. I'm sure you'll be able to tell why after a listen.

Futureboogie Recordings [Bristol, UK]
Futureboogie Recordings have been making quite a splash in the underground house world recently and for damn good reason. With a thin catalog of only three releases, it has already become abundantly clear that these fellows out of Bristol mean business. In just three releases Futureboogie has begun to cultivate a sound entirely unique to the Bristol scene; an innovative and modern sound which is in part inspired by the strong UK culture of bass music, but is entirely endebted to the sound of Chicago house's past. Among the all-star cast of artists they support are Christophe, Behling, Coat of Arms and the man everyone's talking about these days, Julio Bashmore. With their souls rooted in the past and their eyes strained toward the future, its no wonder the artists of Futureboogie Recordings have found themselves so quickly in the warm hearts of house-lovers the world over. Here's a taste of what these Bristol boys are about:
Coat of Arms - Is This Something (Original Mix) by Bright & Shiny
Christophe - The Force (Original Mix) by Bright & Shiny
Behling - Without You (Original Mix) by Bright & Shiny
For even more information about this booming UK scene, check out the feature RA recently did on Bristol for their inaugural video series called "Real Scenes" below, in which they explore the musical, cultural and creative climate within electronic music's key destinations.
