Jack Dixon is a new face in the UK bass scene who's been getting recognition for the way his sound blends elements of sexier tech house with melodic UK bass. Off his most recent EP this Dauwd remix is definitely the choice pick of the bunch..

This next one is far and away the mega anthem of this post. A Dubfire classic from a couple years back, I stumbled on this one when my iPod was on shuffle and let me tell you this is a timeless monster. At over 10 minutes long it's a song explicitly crafted for destroying dance floors in the way that only Dubfire knows how. Every phase of the song is different and bigger and better than the last section, and it seems to steadily build into a massive crescendo at the end. This song is literally destined to be blasted out of festival speakers. I love the part around the 3 minute mark when it really takes off with the vocals strobing in and out of the beat.

Vassup y'aaaal. Vancouver based U-Tern, whom you may know as one half of nu-disco outfit Oliver, was kind enough to release this collaboration with AJK for free via soundcloud...Gods be praised. With a  rolling and rollicking synth line filling the area between reverberated rimshots and punchy low-end percussion, this one seems appropriate for all times and places, whether you're just lounging at the crib or in the midst of a frenzied dancefloor. Give it a listen below.

And speaking of Oliver, peep the sampler for their upcoming "Dirty Talk" EP below as well. Featuring remixes from the likes of Wax Motif and Punks Jump Up, it doesn't look like one to miss.

Though the title of this one from UK duo Audiojack urges the listener to "Get Serious", frankly thats the last thing I can do when I hit that play button. A seriously uplifting number, those chords in the breakdown, immediately followed by bouncy and playful tom and kick work, could not have me feeling higher. Give it a listen and see what I mean.

I'm not sure how Mercury haven't blown the fuck up yet, as their take on soulful, bass driven house music is too refreshing and unique to ignore. I've always been a sucker for vocal chops, but in "You Lift Me Up", it's the percussion that sets it off. It has a very retro feel to it for sure, but with modern flourishes that'd have it at home in any respectable club today.

Italian freaky frico disco mofo homeboys Fare Soldi are at it again, this time with a delightful mix of Toro Y Moi's "New Beat". Though it certainly brings that dance happy punch these boys are known for, it's careful to preserve much of the wonderful sound and feel the original carries. What more can you ask for?

Patrick put up the Nightriders deep house remix of Magnifik's "Behaving Badly" the other day, but it's the dub mix that I think deserves a second glance. Masters of all things looping and filtered, the boston duo achieves an irresistible sound with a relatively simple reconfiguring of the original..you'll be hard pressed to hit pause once the toon starts up.

U-Tern occupies a special place in my heart dedicated to luscious synth sounds and disco vibes. It's that part that's tickled most by his remix of Grandtheft's "Let Me Out", a perfect blend of satisfying percussion, 80's style melodies, and vocal chops courtesy of Alixe Turner. This the one I'm most excited about. Mumbai Science, aka Belgian duo Maarten Elen and Jonas Kiesekoms just released their two track Lotus EP, featuring the singles 'Lotus' and 'Panas'. I bring you 'Panas' today; it strays away from their typical crazed techno sound and wanders into a territory inhabited by only the most euphoric of melodies. It's an addictive, perpetually building riff that makes this song what it is, and there's no denying its grip on your ears. Check out the full release via beatport here.

No Brains

Villains have been at it a while now, honing their disco-tinged and dirty electro styles; making them a force to be reckoned with in the blogosphere. Their approach to this track is no different. Villains transform Mark Ronson's solemn, reggae-inspired affair into something bleepy and danceable, liberally using Andrew Wyatt's vocals above fuzzy synths and clean, tight drums.

If you're using your brain for anything other than the receiving of sensory input whilst at a rave, then you're doing it wrong. French DJ and producer Etienne De Crecy, also known as Etienne De Crazy, knows what that's all about seeing as he's been killing it since the mid-90's, working alongside influential artists like AIR, Alex Gopher, and Cassius; channeling that brainless madness we all love in a pounding, monster electro track. The No Brain EP is out now on beatport, featuring remixes from Munk, Disco Villains, and TAI.

Belgian producers Mumbai Science have had a breakout year. They released their first EP, Woof, in March after signing with Lektroluv Records. But it was with the release of Ancova this June which put Mumbai Science securely on the map as a duo who love to make basic, driving electro tracks. Gold again exhibits Mumbai Science's signature style, making you go batshit with their ever-ascending bleeps and fat drums. The Gold EP is out now on beatport, and features fantastic remixes from Noob and NT89.

The-Dream is the master of today's pop/R&B radio hit. If you don't believe me, then listen to this shit. And if that didn't impress you, then fuck you. The man knows what he's doing. U-Tern reinterprets Kris Menace's interpretation of The-Dream's "Walkin' On the Moon," resulting in a juggernaut of a track, covered in disco synths and that feeling you get when you fall in like with a girl.

I have long considered the Ghost Buster's theme to be one of the catchiest and funkiest melodies in the history of film. French clubhaus wizards David Guetta and Joachim Garraud take this song out of your VHS collection and take it right to the dancefloor, transforming it entirely while preserving the retrofuture-funk of the original theme with Chris Willis singing about inalienable rights over top.

THE CLUBHAUS

This first track is nothing ostentatious, but everything right. All relentless buzzing synths and clean drum hits, this deep track from Eric Prydz' tech house alter-ego, Cirez D, is firing on all cylinders. How prolific can this Swedish man get? He's got his hands in every subgenre this side of the Mississippi. Pick up the rest of the new Size Matters EP, mixed by Steve Angello & AN21, here.

Every remix I've ever heard of Stardust's legendary, one-off track "Music Sounds Better With You" has disgraced the original, trying too hard to augment what is a classic song. If you don't know, Stardust is a one-time collaboration between Alana Braxe and Thomas Bangalter: mindblowing shit. This bootleg from Kid Massive does right by the original by attacking the song with pin-point prudence, transforming the French house classic into a straight house track perfect for the clubs of 2010.

Alex Kenji & Manuel De La Mare have made a track which belongs to both sides of the beautiful Mediterranean. The woodwind sample reminds us of the Middle East while the light, Balearic drums and throbbing bassline remind us of nights spent on the islands. Also, when AN21 drops it on a crowd, shit goes off.

Finally Chuckie has released this monstrous track from himself and Gregori Klosman on his Dirty Dutch label. Mutfakta, taken from the Turkish word for "kitchen" is a beast of a track; I'll let it speak for itself. Also from the Dirty Dutch, Vol. 2 release comes this incredible remix of Ambush, Chuckie, & Hardwell's "Move It 2 the Drum" by Promise Land. One day this summer as I listened to one of my many favorite Chuckie tracks, it dawned on me that Dutch house is simply a new-age, high-pitched reinterpretation of acid house. Promise Land take the acidity of the original and make it the main focus of the track, interrupting these divine bleeps only to slam you in the face with euphoric prog house synths.

It's What You've Always Wanted

Well it's been too long since I've posted, and I'm sure you've all missed me immensely. But it's all gonna be alright, because I would never leave you. Ever.
