Found this one on the suggestion of a producer friend of mine who consistently seems to have spot on taste. The percussion here is impeccable. Long live Scuba.

The B side of Maya Jane Coles' recent "Don't Put Me In Your Box" EP, Dub Child shows Maya Jane at her absolute best. A track that's at once deep enough to suck you in and bubbly enough to keep you dancing for hours, Dub Child is a keeper for sho. Be sure to grab the whole EP on beatport, since the other 3 tracks are equally as quality.

Globus is a song I've been meaning to post for a while now. Off of SCNTST's debut release on Boys Noize Records, it's a track that really encapsulates the youngster's unique sound (dude is 17). Boys Noize himself once described SCNTST's emerging style as "that new german juke" - I'm not quite sure what this means, but after listening to this track I'm sure you'll agree that's what it sounds like.

The American Way
This new Luckybeard (alternate alias of Phra from Crookers) remix of A-trak's Ray Ban Vision is totally ill. He takes the original and twists it into a sexy bass and kick drum driven track that ends up, in my opinion, way more interesting and bangin' than the original. I heard crookers say in an interview that they started off in Hip Hop and then progressed into electro. This sounds like some straight Crookers-style hip hop, I'm definitely hoping we see more of this.
A-Trak ft. Cyhi Da Prince - Ray Ban Vision (Luckybeard Remix)On the Crookers theme, this Junkie XL remix isn't new but it's definitely dope. Gotta love that huge electric guitar breakdown about midway through.
Crookers ft. Yelle - Cooler Couleur (Junkie XL Remix)
The Djedjotronic remix part 1 of Chromeo's Hot Mess was a thumping techno track that has long been on the Bright & Shiny list of favorites. However, it's the little known 2nd remix that I have for you today. For whatever reason the track never really got any attention and was never released in America. I don't know why though, because it's equally as crazy and huge as the first remix, maybe even more melodic. Plus, after witnessing Djedjo himself raging his face off shirtless in the middle of a group of (what appeared to be) 4 american college girls during Sidney Samson's set at Ultra this year, he has been awarded a Bright & Shiny lifetime champion award and all of his crazy music should be praised and listened to on repeat.
Chromeo - Hot Mess (Djedjotronic Remix 2)
The new Jack Beats EP lives up to the hype and then some as the follow up to their world dominating 2010 remix of Big Boi's Shutterbug. Both of the Jack Beats originals on the EP, Elevator and All Night, are ridiculously good and worth your money: buy them on beatport. All Night is the best track on the release though, as it's one of the rare instances where sheer beauty meets club destroying beats and the two mesh seamlessly. John B and Jack Beats bridge the gap with a set of piano stabs for the ages, pulling together the ambient beginning with the sideways tribal dance rhythms of the middle, and the result is a top notch track that retains a real sense of completeness from start to finish. I've seriously had this song on repeat since first buying it. Simply incredible.
We brought you a preview of this track a while ago when we first sang the praises of LA group No Body. They have since won the remix contest for Steed Lord with this remix, and upon winning gave it away for free. It starts off beautifully and builds into an absolutely filthy bassline drop. Dancefloor pandemonium ensues. This song is MASSIVE.
Steed Lord - 1 2 3 Want Me (No Body Remix)
And finally we have the latest from 18 year old producer slash Bright & Shiny homeboy Ekstra. He sent over this remix of Junior Jack's My Feeling a couple days ago - you might remember we posted the absolutely amazing Deniz Koyu remix of it a while ago, and let me tell you this Ekstra remix is right up there with the best of them, pure progressive-electro madness. If you don't believe me fast forward to the 2:40 mark and tell me you don't get an irresistible urge to fist pump..

Sanity
See that? Yeah, I wasn't there.
So considering I'm the only member of the Bright and Shiny crew who didn't end up attending Electric Zoo, I feel as though I need to compensate for the copious amounts of fun I missed out on with some extraordinarily fantastic tunes. Acquiring these tracks was the only thing that kept me sane as I read the often unintelligible texts my ravin' compadres were sending me. Here you go.
Posting a Kanye track, especially first, is not something you'd see from me normally, but this one is too good to pass up.
Kanye West - Devil In a New Dress
Fare Soldi prove with each new remix and release that they are absolutely bat-shit insane, and I mean that in the best way possible.
Duck Sauce - Barabara Streisand (Fare Soldi Remix)
Scissor Sisters? Piano stabs? Dutch house sounds? All from Carte Blanche? I like.
Scissor Sisters - Any Which Way (Carte Blanche Remix)
Louis La Roche improves with each new release I hear from him, probably because he spits them out about every 5 seconds.
Human Life - In it Together (Louis La Roche Feeling Remix)
Just like La Roche, Hidden Cat's shit gets better every day. I am very excited to see how big this kid can get in the near future.
ArnHao - Oh?! (Intangible Fantasy) (Hidden Cat's Totally Tangible Remix)
Big Boi's Shutterbug is not a track I thought I'd see remixed by the likes of Jack Beats, so when I saw this one I had to check it out. Keep in mind, this is only a preview.
Big Boi - Shutterbug (Jack Beats Remix)
I don't really know how to describe this one. It's nuts though. I remember LeCastle Vania dropped it at U-Street (one of the few highlights of his set) and I went bonkers.
Les Petits Pilous - Goog
Big room banger timmeeee.
Afrojack & David Guetta - Louder Than Words (Original Mix)
I can't even imagine the chaos that would ensue anyone dropping this one in a live set. My brain hurts.
Sebastien Drums & Avicii (Angger Dimas Bambu Remix)
And finally, if you feel the need to cool down and relax after listening to the above tracks, please, do yourself a favor and choose this.
Washed Out - Feel It All Around

Electric Zoo: Day 2
12:45 pm: Grum
Grum was incredible. I (Patrick) was the only one of the Bright&Shiny crew to make it to this early afternoon performance and I'm so glad that I did. Grum has been one of my favorite producers for quite a while now with his funky disco dance bass lines and genius remixes. Originality just oozes from this man. As he was strolling through the crowd after his set, I was lucky enough to be able to stop him and have a little chat. Quiet and reserved, he was kind enough to sign the cover of his new EP (I Can't Shake This Feeling) that I had picked up at the merchandise stand before his performance. Needless to say, I love him and everything he does.
5:00 pm: Moby
Moby was cool. He chose a really old school rave track list and threw in some remixes of his own classics like Porcelain. I realized about 10 minutes in that he was using the exact same track list from one of his DJ sets a year ago, but I didn't mind 'cause it was virtually a perfect track selection anyway. Here are some of our favorites from it.
6:30 pm: Boys Noize
[Sir Real's screen name] (4:59:14 PM): how unremarkable was boys noize
[Augustus' screen name] (5:02:23 PM): yeah i thought he was being too like industrial and austerely crazy german for my likes
[Augustus] (5:02:44 PM): i usually dont like being assaulted like that when im fuzzily ENJOYING MYSELF [CONTENT CENSORED]
[Augustus] (5:03:00 PM): he was being mean
[Note: We LOVE Boys Noize, his set at Electric Zoo just didn't do anything to build upon his legend]

8:30 pm: A-Trak
So stupid. This man can cut like none other... literally, considering he won DMCs World DJ Championship in 1997 at age 15. Not only was this man scratching like the world champ that he is, he was dropping the heat left and right. A-Trak is by all regards a first rate DJ in any situation and seems to be most at home when spinning house. Plus, he announced that "Barbara Streisand" is due out October 4th! Not that we here at Bright & Shiny don't already have it for you in full 320 kbps quality... so sneaky. Here are the tracks I was together enough to write down from the set, all of which KILLED on the Red Bull Music Academy set up.
Jack Beats - Out Of Body
A-Trak - Loonies To Blow
Rogerseventytwo - Take Me Higher
Duck Sauce - Barbara Streisand (MAMIHLAPINATAPAI!)
9:30 pm: John Digweed
The deepest of the deep, John Digweed is a librarian of excellence in dance music. We had the opportunity to see Steve Aoki or Armin van Buuren during this time slot but chose instead to close out our experience at the Zoo with Mr. Digweed. I didn't even know any songs from the set because it was so deep (although there are a couple at the bottom, here), but it was goood and cleansed the soul with its minimal, bassy grooves. I had heard that this man was a legend and now I know why. If you ever have the opportunity to see John Digweed throw down I advise that you do so with haste.

Day 1 Wrap Up:
Axwell was dirty and functioned as the whole of Swedish House Mafia by dropping tons of SHM tracks including the amazing Miami 2 Ibiza. While my colleagues enjoyed the latter half of Benny Benassi, I (Patrick) couldn't resist heading over to catch some of this show. Axwell/SHM never do disappoint after all.
