Here are some tracks to get weird to on this fine Halloween evening. I've amassed some fat ass beats in the last month that need some sharin' with you, the fine people of the Bright & Shiny Nation. Play all of these with loads of bass and lots of decibels.
BRISTOL
The fine people of Bristol, UK have been holding it down as of late, which should come as no surprise considering they're changing the face of dance music as we know it. With a little bit of bass and a lot of love, these fine young men have been churning out the best beats in the business.
First up is Coat of Arms, composed of two B&S future-hall-of-famers: Dan Pearce AKA Eats Everything, and Chris James (who's actually from Birmingham, but who's counting?).
download: Coat of Arms - Lovin' Together
Waifs & Strays, also of Bristol, make bouncing tech house which is very characteristic of their fine city, but a little techier than most.
download: Waifs & Strays - Yeah Yeah
Eats Everything has been blowing up the BBC Radio 1 airwaves as of late with their support of his recent releases. With support from Pete Tong, Jaymo & Andy George, as well as Annie Mac, you know this man's got some talent. See if you can spot the sample in this one.
Eats Everything - The Size
REST OF WORLD
Subb-an is another fine fellow from the UK. Dunno anything about him really, because Augustus showed me this track last week and I've listened to it at least once daily since. Funky ass deep ass trax.
download: Maya Jane Coles - Get Away (Subb-an Deeper Remix)
Tim Green, also of the UK (surprise!) has been a favorite producer of mine since I heard his remix of "Live Those Days Tonight" last June, and this track channels the same bouncy, happy house vibes that made that one so special.
download: Tim Green - Cherry
TEED is, how you say in American....? The man. He's so prolific in so many styles with such consistency it makes my head spin. This one's a little deeper than most his tracks, and I love it. Props to Crosstown Rebels on the excellent remix commission on this one.
download: Fur Coat & Argenis Brito - Space Ballad (Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs Remix)
Y'all better know about Azari & III by now. They're bringing that analog, diva house sound back like its 1999.
download: Ultra Nate, Quentin Harris - Give It 2 U (Azari & III Remix)
Maceo Plex of Madrid, ES has got, in the words of Usher, "the beats to make the booties go *CLAP*" I dunno what it is about him, but women love to get down to his deep tracks.
download: Maceo Plex - Stop Your Hate
And while we're on the subject of deep house, keep an eye out for our interview with Toronto's Art Department in the coming days!
Have a downright freaky Hallow's Eve!

Ready For The Weekend
It's thursday and that means the weekend is finally almost here, which we couldn't be more excited about. It's not just any weekend... it's HALLOWEEN WEEKEND and that means a lot of things, all of them wonderful. Most wonderful of all though, it means that the legendary HARD Haunted Mansion is back to downtown Los Angeles and this year's edition is looking better than ever. We'll obviously be there, and we'll be bringing you coverage the whole time. Check the bottom of this post for our Bright & Shiny approved list of artists you shouldn't miss if you're gonna be in attendance.
I couldn't not include at least some form of this track considering the name of this post..
Download: Calvin Harris - Ready For The Weekend (DJ Kue's Last Song Of The Night Remix)
I've been sitting on this song for a long time and it's honestly one of my all time favorites, I'm actually surprised I haven't given it to you guys sooner. Seriously everyone I play this to absolutely loves it. I have no idea who Adam G is or whether he's done anything aside from this remix, but I got this song from my main man petey bowles who deserves a shout out cause this song is literally incredible. It fits literally any situation, whether that's a bumping dancefloor well after midnight or a chilled out day by the pool... Give it a listen and you'll see what I mean... turn it up and soak it in
Download: Angus & Julia Stone - Big Jet Plane (Adam G Remix)
Eric Prydz gives the new Digitalism single a decidedly Swedish glossing over. As always from mr. Prydz, this is pure quality.
Download: Digitalism - Circles (Eric Prydz Remix)
Finally, these last four should go perfectly with any ridiculous Bright & Shiny-type situations you might find yourself in over the next couple nights..
Download: Cicada - One Beat Away (Arno Cost Remix)
Download: Mr. Blink - Gecko (Original Mix)
Download: Lupe Fiasco ft. Ellie Goulding & Bassnectar - LightWork
Download: Tiesto - Maximal Crazy (R3hab & Swanky Tunes Remix)

In Case You Missed It
Some of our favorite songs to come out recently, in case you missed them.
Been waiting for this one to get released in full quality for a while now, and thankfully it's finally here. This remix is typical Gesaffelstein: brash, strange, and simply bangin'. (it's also lightyears better than the Duck Sauce original).
Download: Duck Sauce - Big Bad Wolf (Gesaffelstein Remix)
More Gesaffelstein for your ears. Some Halloween music if I've ever heard any. Off his recent Variations EP released on Turbo Recordings.
Download: Gesaffelstein - A Lost Era (Original Mix)
Congorock comes back with his signature blaring festival sound on this remix.
Download: Havana Brown - We Run The Night (Congorock Remix)
Dillon Francis' new IDGAFOS Ep is a perfect example of the sound that's made him so popular recently: varying between sweet, catchy melodies and pounding dance-inducing bass. Awesome.
Download: Dillon Francis - I.D.G.A.F.O.S. (Original Mix)
This little video is a lot of fun if you haven't already seen it:
We got sent this AutoErotique remix of our favorite Australian twins, Nervo, in the mail a week or two ago and I must say, it's quite large. You guys already know how we feel about AutoErotique: they really pack a punch. Nervo, on the other hand, are bringing their dj skills around the globe presently and touring a number of the world's best clubs from Vegas to the UK. We saw them open for Chuckie a while back, and they're fully Bright & Shiny approved. These girls are as skilled behind the decks as they are beautiful (read: extremely), so make sure you get a chance to see them if they stop by your town. Head HERE to check out their tour dates and see if they're playing near you.
Download: Nervo - We're All No One (AutoErotique Remix)
Speaking of Chuckie, our favorite party starter from the Netherlands has taken Calvin Harris' latest single and given it a big room makeover . Not so heavy on the bonkers dirty dutch influence here, but still plenty to love. Is this a sign of a new direction for Chuckie?
Download: Rihanna ft. Calvin Harris - We Found Love (Chuckie Extended Mix)
This is the first truly great remix of Afrojack & Steve Aoki's summer hit No Beef that I've come across. I'm not too sure who Panic City or Supersede are but based on this, expect to hear more from them.
Download: Steve Aoki & Afrojack ft. Miss Palmer - No Beef (Panic City & Supersede Remix)
Anyone catch the Danny Daze sample in there?
Download: Groove Armada - RJ's Theme (Original Mix)
Sidney Samson at it again with another massive dutch-infused anthem.
Download: Amanda Wilson, Chrizzo & Maxim - Runaway (Sidney Samson Remix)

Weekend Roundup
Once again, the Miami-based dance collective GTA has managed to leave us completely speechless. This newest remix is probably one of the biggest and baddest tracks I've come across in a long time. A blistering mix of big-room house with some moombahton flavoring, this song has all the right ingredients to set any and all dancefloors on fire. Just listen to the way it goes from hands-in-the-air progressive house stabs to a slowed down, pulsing moombahton drop between the 3-4 minute mark. Simply put: bomb. Grab the release off of Laidback Luke's Mixmash record label on beatport.
Download: Blink, Gianno Marino, Metsi - Bahasa (GTA Remix)
My love affair with Brodinski started after I stumbled into his set at last year's HARD Haunted Mansion and found myself blown away by his mental and ludicrously fun approach to techno (which you can read more about in our review). He's been responsible for numerous big productions over the past year, and his newest remix of Nero's Crush On You is no different. A thumping piece of piano electro-house, this one has the signature Brodinski dancefloor stomper edge to it. Support the full release on beatport here.
Download: Nero - Crush On You (Brodinski Remix)
Coincidentally, one of my favorite media sites (not really sure how else to describe it), Konbini, has recently started a really awesome mini-documentary series entitled 'Heeere's Brodinski!' about, you guessed it, the life and times of Brodinski. Check out the first episode in the series below which includes footage from last year's HARD Haunted.
Colorado's bangin' electro-dance outfit, Savoy, takes the 60's rock classic 'California Dreamin' by the Mommas and Poppas and turns it into a piece of dancefloor-ready gold here. Really catchy.

Fly Like A
I have to be honest, I'm very excited to bring today's post to you guys. All of these songs from top to bottom are thoroughly awesome, and even better they come from all across the electronic spectrum. From more big room stuff to bassier deep house jams, we got 'em all. Come and enjoy.
Slap In The Bass is a name everyone should expect to start hearing more about from now on. After I first heard their remix on Crooker's Dr. Gonzo project, I knew these kids were something special. But it wasn't until I recently found this absolute stomper by them named Egypt that I was really blown away. The drop on it is just genius. Bass music at it's best. It's so simple, but so ridiculously large. This one absolutely kills when rattling out of a proper sound system. Grab it below and learn more about Slap In The Bass on their facebook page. Also make sure to check out the full release, including a mental collaboration with Botnek, here on Beatport.
Download: Slap In The Bass - Egypt (Original Mix)
Every song that I stumble across with vocals by the swedish girls Rebecca & Fiona ends up being absolutely incredible it seems like. Adrian Lux and Nause give this older track by them, Bullets, an amazing progressive house makeover. The big room stabs matched with the girls' vocals seriously make this one of the most catchy and re-playable house songs I've come across in a while. Straight up brilliant. For more Rebecca & Fiona done Adrian Lux style be sure to check out his other amazing remix of their single Luminary Ones. (Buy Bullets here on Beatport)
Download: Rebecca & Fiona - Bullets (Nause & Adrian Lux Club Remix)
We brought you guys the preview of Noob's newest EP a couple of weeks ago, and I'm pretty sure the only commentary we could muster about it was "WOW, NOOB." and I still stand by that. Noob's new EP 'Spell' is absolutely stunning, and comes seemingly completely out of the blue. We knew the frenchman was a talented producer from his various mental off the wall techno cuts, but this is his first adventure into more melodic classic house (at least that I'm aware of). And he absolutely smashes it. The production on this is so clean and gorgeous, it almost reminds me of something that Bright & Shiny hall of famer Lone might cook up. The B side to the EP, 'Protein' is equally as quality, though more on the crazy electro side of things. Check out both of them below, and go buy the EP off of Beatport (Seriously, if there are ever EPs worth your money, this is one of them).
Download: Noob - Spell (Original Mix)
Stream Only: Noob - Protein (Original Mix)
Up next we have a release from newcomer Justin Jay off of Claude VonStroke's legendary dirtybird imprint. This track is a slice of swinging deeper house, with a super catchy bass-heavy feel to it. As always, play it loud to truly appreciate it. (Buy here on beatport)
Download: Justin Jay - How Goes The Dynamite? (Original Mix)
A1 Bassline's newest self entitled Ep, also released recently on dirtybird, is just wonderful. Actually somewhat reminiscent of Noob's Spell, this one features a gorgeous classic house feel and warm analog synths layered over creative and inviting percussion. The songs on this EP have made it into sets by heavy hitters like J.Phlip recently, and after one listen I'm sure you'll be able to tell why. Top notch stuff. Full release here on Beatport.
Download: A1 Bassline - Bouyancy (Original Mix)
Finally to round things out I have another massive festival anthem, this time from Swedish main man John Dahlback. The vocals on this by Sneaky Sound System, are, I'll admit, almost a little too girly for me. Key word: Almost, because Dahlback makes everything else around them so absolutely amazing that it doesn't really matter how the vocals are. This track is so melodic and awesome that I guarantee if you give it one listen you'll find yourself putting it on repeat for a while... I know I have

SBTRKT Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1
When I came across SBTRKT's essential mix this morning, I knew what I had to do. It is just too amazing to not share. It was aired last Friday night on BBC Radio 1 and features two hours worth of fantastic mixing and an even more impressive track selection. We get a smattering of eclectic tracks spanning several different musical regions. Some of the wonderful artists displayed on this mix include Radiohead, Hudson Mohawke, Sinden, Lone, Tinie Tempah, and Flying Lotus, to mention a few. We are even graced with an unreleased SBTRKT track entitled "Runaway" which comes in towards the end of the mix. I know it's entirely unoriginal to keep pointing out how impressive SBTRKT is, but I just want to reiterate how he has basically gone from a complete unknown to arguably the most notable artist of 2011. Give a devoted listen the mix below and check out his 2011-2012 North American tour dates, because if this man is anywhere near your current location you will regret missing his live performance. Go to his SoundCloud for a comprehensive track list.

Blisspop & Red Fridays Present: Fred Falke & Lifelike TOMORROW
WASHINGTON, DC-- Tomorrow night at U Street Music Hall, Blisspop & Red Fridays Present Fred Falke & Lifelike in their DC debut. You'd be a fool to pass this one up.
And guess what? The first person to tag our facebook page in their status wins a FREE pair of tickets for the show!
Come out for what is sure to be a glorious night of uplifting nu-disco vibes - but don't just take our word for it:
Blisspop and Red Fridays presents the D.C. debut of Fred Falke and Lifelike with an opening set from Volta Bureau’s Micah Vellian. Since the release of “Intro,” a collaboration between Fred Falke and long-time partner Alan Braxe, Falke has become a worldwide staple within the sounds of French house and nu-disco. From 2000-2008, Falke and Braxe became two of the most in-demand producers and remixers; taking on projects from Jamiroquai, Goldfrapp, Kelis and Justice. As a solo producer, artist and DJ, Falke has continued to push the French touch sound re-working tracks for La Roux, Lykke Li, U2, Gossip and Little Boots.
Lifelike’s first release “The Soul Of My Love” (2001) landed him a spot releasing tracks through one of the biggest Parisian underground labels, Vulture. From there, his 2005 release, “Discopolis” was one of the biggest underground sellers of 2005; entering the official U.K. Top 40 that summer and earned remixes from Chris Lake, Kerri Chandler and Alan Braxe. Remixing for the likes of Moby, Chromeo, Empire Of The Sun and Chromeo and regularly appearing in the set lists of Thomas Bangalter, Lifelike has been rightfully celebrated as one of the most talented producers out of France.

The Reup
Hardwell has been consistently bringing the fire for a while now. This track is no different. We threw the intensely cool preview up on our facebook page a while ago, and I've been waiting for it to get released ever since. It finally came out yesterday on Hardwell's own label, Revealed Recordings and the track definitely lives up to expectations, this one is HUGE. [Beatport Release]
Download: Hardwell - Cobra (Official Energy Anthem 2012)
AutoErotique is probably one of the most underrated electro-house groups out there. They consistently put out banging, floor crushing tracks yet somehow no one really seems to know who they are. I found this filthy remix of theirs in, of all places, one of Tiesto's Club Life mixes. Head over to AutoErotique's facebook page to find out more about them if you're not already in the know. (Buy it here on beatport if you have a soul)
Download: Disco Trash Music - Phobia (AutoErotique Luposlipaphobic Remix)
TJR is back again to follow up his 'One Love' Bob Marley remix (which is still in the beatport top 10) with another awesome dancefloor reworking of a classic track. This time it's the 90's hip hop jam 'California Love' that gets the TJR treatment. The second drop in particular is really fresh to me, this track is prime for any party-rocking dj set.

Tim Green has quickly established himself as one of our favorite producers of all things deeper and groovier house at Bright & Shiny, and this Friendly Fires remix is a perfect example of why we love him. At almost 9 minutes long, this track demonstrates TG's unique ability to subtley layer and build to take you on a journey over the course of a song. Beyond that, the lush analog synths paired with the funky Friendly Fires vocals make this track a feel good jam that deserves a spot on any down tempo playlist.

Here are some of them. A few are a little old, but they're all absolutely awesome so grab them below. If you're curious first one is the song that I was asked about..

Bright & Shiny Exclusive Mix by Keljet
Indie-disco outfit Keljet has been kind enough to whip us up a fantastic exclusive mix. Hailing from the Netherlands, these boys have seen a quick rise to popularity and after one listen to this mixtape, I think you can tell why. Only a couple years into their music making careers, and we can already hear a mature sound beyond their experience level. They have released three new original tracks over the past month, the most recent being a collaboration with Falcon Punch, which are all featured on this mix. Keljet was even generous enough to grace us with their unreleased remix of Wynter Gordon's 'Til Death'. One of those recently released originals, Laserflies, is currently in the top 50 on Hypemachine and still climbing. Their remixes of everyone from Temper Trap to Passion Pit are all classics that have earned them admiration and fans worldwide, be sure to head over to their soundcloud to grab them, or check out a couple down below the mix. Now get on your dancing shoes and crank that volume.

Slowed Down Saturday
I've been bumping this one out of the speakers on my balcony all afternoon while I just stare off into the ocean. The way the synths wash over this track is really relaxing and almost tropical. Beatport Release.
Danny Howells - Everything's Here (Deetron Remix)
Danny Daze can do no wrong as far as I can tell. Like most of his tracks, this one is centered around a super thick synth line that only gets better as the track goes along. As the germans would say, das ist fat.. (I don't know if that's actually how they would say it, but this track really is fat..). Support the man and grab the release over on beatport. The Eats Everything remix is also definitely worth a listen too.
Maxxi Soundsystem - Get Up (Danny Daze SpinIn Out Remix)
I grabbed this one from our good friends over at DSCOtech. The name is super fitting, this track is funky as helllllll. But still understated enough to fit into a deeper playlist.
Leisure Groove & Kevin Andrews - Funky Beat (Original Mix)
Finally, this Mecury remix of the classic Round Table Knights track 'Say What?!' is absolute gold. The arrangements and floating synth pads are really gorgeous. Have a listen for yourself below and check the release on beatport.
