SoundCloud Gems

Ok this post is going to be really simple. I've spent way too much time on SoundCloud over the past few days and amassed quite a collection of hidden gems. These artists all deserve some attention... so visit their pages, follow them, and keep them on your radar for more great tracks.

Everybody's Singin

Whattup everyone. I've got more new tunes that I'm pumped to share today. Acquiring these babies has gotten me through the week so far; they're guaranteed to help you finish out yours. From some fresh nu-disco to electro bangers, no matter what you're yearnin' for today, I've got what you need.

Porter Robinson. This North Carolina whiz kid topped the Beatport charts at only 18 years old with his genre-smashing hit "Say My Name". He's only getting better guys. Here's one of his latest releases, chock full of dubsteppy wobbles, electro-house hooks, and a dirty vocal sample. Beware the Porter Robinson takeover.

Porter Robinson - I'm On Fire (Original Mix)

More North Carolina produced goodness, this time from Bright & Shiny favorite Hidden Cat. Known for spitting out some dreamy, trance-inducing remixes, with this original he shows us a bit of his harder side. Love it.

Hidden Cat - The Superfuture

Delectable Dem Slackers remix from Evil Nine. This UK duo bring along a classic house sound and signature vocal chop-ups to every mix. And is it just me, or is everyone using those synths from Soulwax's remix of "Frequency"?

Dem Slackers - Swagger (Evil Nine Remix)

Back to the lighter side, I have a maaagnificent remix from His Majesty Andre of Voodoo Chilli's "Love Songs". Everything about this song is so damn funky it's almost too much. No, actually it's just right.

Voodoo Chilli - Love Songs (His Majesty Andre 'Everybody Spinnin' Remix)

Alright guys. I give up. Honestly, Treasure Fingers is too good. I can't get enough of this Atlantian's stuff. Found this track floating around the web the other day, and instantly fell in love. The vocals, the bassline, the drums, everything fits together so well it's redonkulous. And did I mention it's really good?

Treasure Fingers - It's Love (Original Mix)

To finish, I leave you with the hilarious video for Burns and Fred Falke's new collaboration Y.S.L.M. (You Stopped Loving Me). I could not be more excited for this to be released.

And, as if that wasn't enough, here's the Treasure Fingers remix to hold you over until the original is released.

Sanity

See that? Yeah, I wasn't there.

So considering I'm the only member of the Bright and Shiny crew who didn't end up attending Electric Zoo, I feel as though I need to compensate for the copious amounts of fun I missed out on with some extraordinarily fantastic tunes. Acquiring these tracks was the only thing that kept me sane as I read the often unintelligible texts my ravin' compadres were sending me. Here you go.

Posting a Kanye track, especially first, is not something you'd see from me normally, but this one is too good to pass up.
Kanye West - Devil In a New Dress

Fare Soldi prove with each new remix and release that they are absolutely bat-shit insane, and I mean that in the best way possible.
Duck Sauce - Barabara Streisand (Fare Soldi Remix)

Scissor Sisters? Piano stabs? Dutch house sounds? All from Carte Blanche? I like.
Scissor Sisters - Any Which Way (Carte Blanche Remix)

Louis La Roche improves with each new release I hear from him, probably because he spits them out about every 5 seconds.
Human Life - In it Together (Louis La Roche Feeling Remix)

Just like La Roche, Hidden Cat's shit gets better every day. I am very excited to see how big this kid can get in the near future.
ArnHao - Oh?! (Intangible Fantasy) (Hidden Cat's Totally Tangible Remix)

Big Boi's Shutterbug is not a track I thought I'd see remixed by the likes of Jack Beats, so when I saw this one I had to check it out. Keep in mind, this is only a preview.
Big Boi - Shutterbug (Jack Beats Remix)

I don't really know how to describe this one. It's nuts though. I remember LeCastle Vania dropped it at U-Street (one of the few highlights of his set) and I went bonkers.
Les Petits Pilous - Goog

Big room banger timmeeee.
Afrojack & David Guetta - Louder Than Words (Original Mix)

I can't even imagine the chaos that would ensue anyone dropping this one in a live set. My brain hurts.
Sebastien Drums & Avicii (Angger Dimas Bambu Remix)

And finally, if you feel the need to cool down and relax after listening to the above tracks, please, do yourself a favor and choose this.
Washed Out - Feel It All Around

Going Away

Since I'll be riding in a random shit filled car tomorrow for 14 hours as I go off to St. Louis, I've decided to leave you all with a going away gift a bit early. The songs I have today are especially delectable. Eat em up.

I'll start things off with a very well done remix from UNC whiz kid, Hidden Cat. This isn't any face-pounding banger or get-on-the-dance-floor jam, but it's oh so nice.
Dirty Projectors - Stillness in the Move (Hidden Cat Remix)

Don't know anything about these LOL Boys, but they did a damn good job with this. This remix of AC Slater's "Hello" sounds absolutely nothing like the original, but that doesn't mean it isn't amazing. Very low-key.
AC Slater - Hello (LOL Boys Sunday Sunrise Remix)

Coma Cat + Go Go Bizkitt. Enough said.
Tensnake - Coma Cat! (Go Go Bizkitt Remix)

This Grum beauty really gets going late in the track.
Grum - Want U

PUNCHES, a Brooklyn duo comprised of two twin brother DJ's, have been putting a fresh spin on that disco house sound recently, as you'll see with this remix. Lovin the vocal sample.
Au Revoir Simone - Only You Can Make You Happy (PUNCHES Remix)

Fantastic remix from Aeons.
Amy Meredith - Young at Heart (Aeons Remix) [REMOVED BY REQUEST]

This last one is by far and away my favorite. It's incredible. Fred Falke and Alan Braxe by themselves produce gold. Together, they can do no wrong.
Jamiroquai - Alright (Fred Falke and Alan Braxe Remix)

Because I can.
The Only - Top of the Jam (Autoerotique Remix)

Beach Jammin'

I LOVE the beach. Who doesn't? But there's one thing I never leave behind when I drag my ass to the shoreline: music. I've got plenty of it for you all today, from songs that'll root you to your chairs as the tide ebbs and flows, to songs that will simply make you wanna throw down. So, here you go.

Goin with the beach theme here, "Stylo" comes off of the relatively new Gorillaz album Plastic Beach. Alex Metric turns the whole song upside down, transforming it into 6 minute long disco romp.
Gorillaz - Stylo (Alex Metric Remix)

Sink into the sand with this gem of a remix from Toro y Moi
Tegan & Sara - Alligator (Toro y Moi Remix)

Hailing from Long Beach, CA, LBCK bring the funk with some disco inspired chops and cuts.
LBCK - Start

Jam on your towels to this remix from UNC student Hidden Cat.
Housse de Racket - Oh Yeah! (Hidden Cat Remix)

I remember "Pump up the Jam" from a now very old Jock Jams CD. I dug it back then, dig the Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike remix even more. This one'll get things started.
Technotronic - Pump up the Jam (Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike Crowd Is Jumping Mix)

And now, I give you these two hot n' fresh bangers. Steve Angello brings the noise with this original. JSK adds some booty shakin vocals from Lil' Jon. I'll let you decide which one you would like to melt your face.
Steve Angello - KNAS (Original Mix)

Steve Angello - KNAS (JSK 'Shake Your Ass' Bootleg)
