I'm an F-18, Bro

I've said it before and I'll say it again; I love RAC. They are wizards when it comes to remixing. They choose such subtle and cohesive instrumentation and they keep the integrity of the song while still drastically improving upon it. Roughly three years ago, RAC released a remix album called RAC VOL 1 that was critically acclaimed and really laid the groundwork for this awesome collective. Today, March 4th, they have finally released their second volume on their website and it's FREE. Below are two tracks that I've been abusing over the past week ever since I heard them, but if you fancy yourself a music enthusiast, you should just hop on over to their website and download the entire album in a nice little .zip file (or just click here).

Suckers - Black Sheep (RAC Remix)

Washed Out - New Theory (RAC Remix)

Dance Ritual was founded in 1998 by two of dance music's most respected artists, Louie Vega and Joe Claussell. The two wanted to create a party without musical boundaries, where African, Jazz, Latin, Soul, Gospel, R&B, and Brazilian sounds would blend through house forms. Vega is unquestionably a major force in house music, both as a producer and DJ, and Dance Ritual is his cultural and spiritual home. Without further adieu, here are a couple tracks I've been fiending over lately.

Black Coffee feat. Hugh Masekela - We Are One (Dance Ritual Mix)

Hardrive: 2000 feat. Lynae - Never Forget (When You Touch Me) (Dance Ritual Mix)

I recently found out that Tepr plans on releasing one track at the beginning of each upcoming month on his website (www.tepr.net). This month's track is definitely club ready. A bit on the deeper side, but with those standard Tepr floating synth lines that really create a dancing atmosphere in pretty much any setting. Enjoy this in all its free glory.

Tepr - Rigolease

Now, Quinten 909 uploaded this track to his soundcloud 1 month ago, but just recently decided to make it available for download out of the kindness in his own heart. French/Disco House master does it again. Repetitive but insatiably pleasing to the ears, You're My Friend will undoubtedly soothe your troubled brain.

Quinten 909 - You're My Friend

Brand new Classixx original guys. It sort of sounds like it's in the same vein as the Ghost Busters theme song... pure 80's cheese, from the funky bass line to the nostalgic synth guitar chord stabs. These lyrics... I'm beginning to think this is actually an 80's song. Anyways, here.

Classixx - Fortunate Star

Now this one is from 2007, but I recently began listening to it and I have to say... I wish more music was made like this. SebastiAn is an Ed Banger GOD and he needs to release more music for me to froth over. This crunchy kick drum and the grimey bass synth... yum yum yum.
The Rakes - We Danced Together (SebastiAn Remix)

Bonus:

Just wait for the vocals to kick in on this beautiful track

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs - Household Goods (Justin Martin vocal remix) by T-E-E-D

Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeper

MayaVanya - Panama! (Lolboys Remix) by MayaVanya

The Cool Kids are Doing it

Mid-terms... woo yeah awesome great super splendid grand. I love studying a lot for things I don't care about at all. If I didn't have a constant stream of new electro music to listen to, I don't think I could make it through this extended period of indentured servitude they call college.

So a while back, I was really against getting a twitter account. All of these social networking websites are overwhelming and there are times when I want to run away into the forest and never return... but alas, I have been repeatedly rewarded with great tunes directly from artist's twitter accounts. Today's example is an absolutely swell new Tepr remix of Jamaica's Jericho. Much like literally everything Tepr does, I love it and so should you. I'm getting some Justin Faust vibes on this one.
Jamaica - Jericho (Tepr Remix)

This disco gem comes hot off the presses from Soundcloud. Oliver is a tag team combo of disco house masters U-Tern and Oligee. I think I speak for everyone everywhere when I say that this is a match made in heaven. Lovely funk side chained kick, grimey bass synth, bright and shiny synth lines floating over top of a Chromeo-esque vocoder vocals. Yum.
Juan Atkins - Dayshift (Oliver's Nightshift Remix)

I mean... it's Tensnake. Always spot on with his remixes. This one isn't the most exciting thing in the world, but as usual he brings the heat. I'm not sure if you needed more funk in your diet after that last one... but here it is.
Lissie - When I'm Alone With You (Tensnake Remix)

Nu disco wizard Odahl strikes again. Futurecop! + Odahl = the 1980's. I dare you to remain stationary for this number.
Futurecop! (Feat. Keenhouse) - Dreams (Odahl Remix)

Uploaded two days ago by Heavenly Recordings, this remix is very mellow and down tempo. Dicky Trisco's dub take on Ghandi, the first single taken from Emma & Mia's debut album, Love and Nature. Enjoy the good vibes.
LCMDF - LCMDF (DT Heavenly Dub)

I'm not nervous, she's not nervous

Interesting post today. Some new stuff, some old stuff, a few mixes. Embrace.

This little gem was released this past November on Simian Mobile Disco's Delicacies. It's more than a bit techy, but as you guys can probably tell by now, B & S seems to be going through a tech house phase lately.
Simian Mobile Disco - Skin Cracker

Cosmonaut Grechko has tried his hand at fantastic track by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. He's transformed it into a dreamy candy land filled with bell synths and upper register melodies.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Maps (Cosmonaut Grechko)

Com Truise is awesome. He recently put out a great original track that I have here for you today. I really enjoy the instrumentation and the chord progressions. He gives the track a Washed Out esque feel to it that soothes my currently exhausted self.
Com Truise - Slow Peels

The last two tracks I have for you today are actually quite old, but amazing none the less. Yelle just released their new single, Safari Disco Club, check it out for sure (it's freeeeee). Overall, my favorite Yelle track has got to be Ce Jeu. The Tepr remix (which has been posted before but deserves it again...) absolutely knocks it out of the park.
Yelle - Ce Jeu

Yelle - Ce Jeu (Tepr Remix)

The second part of this post is comprised of four new mixes that I came across on SoundCloud. All four of them are free (!!!) and you can download them all directly from the artists' soundcloud pages as well as acquiring the track lists. Have at them.

This is an exlcusive mix that Nightriders did for Les Petits Bruits, a fantastic blog with a sexy layout to boot.

Bonus:

Oliver uploaded a new original track to his soundcloud about a month ago, and I just go around to listening. Much like most of Oliver's material, this disco house is nothing short of superb.

Summer

It occurred to me today that where most of you guys are right now, summer is coming to a close and fall is slowly creeping in. Unless you're one of our readers from the southern hemisphere, of course.. in which case it's becoming springtime... which is seriously fucked up.. but anyways I just got to Santa Barbara, California today, where it's more or less summer all year long. In honor of that incredible fact, I present to you the ultimate summer playlist. (not including the plethora of great summer jams that we've already posted, obviously)

This first one is a brand new Bit Funk remix of a Grum track. I'm surprised that the world didn't end from an excess of awesomeness when they decided to collaborate. Definitely hope to see more of this combination in the future.

Grum - Through The Night (Bit Funk Remix) by Bit Funk

Nothing says summer quite like Aeroplane.

Sebastien Tellier - Kilometer (Aeroplane Italo 84 Remix)

Ah yes, Sun Is Up by Inna. This song reminds me of watching the sun rise on a beach in Ibiza next to Simian Mobile Disco with my boys Will and Pete (shout out). It also reminds me of getting mugged at sunset on that same beach 15 hours later. Sweet and sour. Gotta love the summer.

Inna - Sun Is Up (Extended Version by Play & Win)

Hervé's newest single. Hervé can do no wrong.

Hervé - Together

Summertime, and the livins easy. Especially when Snoop Dogg shows up out of nowhere high as shit and decides to run a train all over a classic sublime song.

Sublime - Doin' Time (Snoop Time Remix)

More Snoop, this time with New York house guru Armand Van Helden

Katy Perry ft. Snoop Dogg - California Gurls (Armand Van Helden Remix)

Yelle. Tepr. Need I say more?

Yelle - Ce Jeu (Tepr Remix)

Dada Life. I literally could not get enough Dada Life if I tried. I try every day.

Regi & Kaya Jones - Take It Off (Dada Life Remix)

Bibio, the alien from planet chillwave. (I think that could be the most flattering introduction I've ever given)

Bibio - Lovers' Carvings

ps, I snuck in the new experimental album cover in one of the songs today. let us know what you think

Oh, and the HARD Haunted Mansion trailer just came out. Bright & Shiny will definitely be covering this.

Chiiillin

Alright so not much to say today since I'm taking over for Sir Real while he moves in to Northwestern, but here's your daily selection of Bright & Shiny tunes (you know we'd never forget about you)

DivKid vs. Basement Jaxx - Romeo (DivKiv 'Loves Juliet' Remix)

Tepr - Too-Too-Too
