Get Lost

We slept a bit on this latest U-Tern release, but it really is delightful.. Sun-soaked vibes that feel perfectly crafted for a summer day at the beach.
download: U-Tern - You Don't Know Me (Original Mix)

Sgt Slick brings the ruckus on this one, almost sounding like some early Hardwell with a progressive banger that's equal parts melodic and fist-pumping.
download: Sgt Slick - Picture This (Original Mix)

Next we've got two weapons from Avicii, my personal favorite being the Lenny Kraviz bootleg Superlove. Definitely up there with Avicii's best..
download: Avicii vs Lenny Kraviz - Superlove (Original Mix)

download: The Good Guys ft Tesz Milan - Spotlight (Avicii Rising Star Mix)

Jack Dixon is a new face in the UK bass scene who's been getting recognition for the way his sound blends elements of sexier tech house with melodic UK bass. Off his most recent EP this Dauwd remix is definitely the choice pick of the bunch..
download: Jack Dixon - Lose Myself (Dauwd Remix)

This next one is far and away the mega anthem of this post. A Dubfire classic from a couple years back, I stumbled on this one when my iPod was on shuffle and let me tell you this is a timeless monster. At over 10 minutes long it's a song explicitly crafted for destroying dance floors in the way that only Dubfire knows how. Every phase of the song is different and bigger and better than the last section, and it seems to steadily build into a massive crescendo at the end. This song is literally destined to be blasted out of festival speakers. I love the part around the 3 minute mark when it really takes off with the vocals strobing in and out of the beat.
download: Robbie Rivera - Float Away (Dubfire's Casaplex Remix)

das Wochenende

I'm writing this right before we hit the road to drive up to San Francisco for Maceo Plex and Maya Jane Coles tonight (so stoked), so I'll have to keep it brief. These tracks are a taste of the weekend-inspired jams we'll be bumping on the roadtrip, and in honor of tonight let's start off with some Maceo Plex.

download: Martin Dawson - Think About It feat. Nicholas Ryan Gant (Maceo Plex Remix)

A monster of a track off of Santigold's new album, thanks to the all star production team of Diplo and Boys Noize.
download: Santigold - Look At These Hoes (Prod. Diplo & Boys Noize)

download: Huxley - Let It Go (Original Mix)

THROWBACK ALERT. (probably one of my favorite electro classics of all time)

Spaced

SCNTST is probably one of the most fascinating producers flying under the radar out there right now. The 17 year old German prodigy on Boys Noize's label seems to switch up his style on every new remix or original that he puts out, all the while retaining a really high level of production quality. This remix is almost like some relaxing trip hop, which is definitely a switch up from his typical techno-inspired sound.
download: Mickey Moonlight - Welcome Aboard (SCNTST Remix)

Hot Since 82 are the next big thing in deep house. Mark my words. Somewhere between the Hot Creations/Art Department sound that's become so popular over the past year, these dudes have been riding a wave of success with a string of really high quality releases recently. This original just might be their best effort yet. Pure fire.
download: Hot Since 82 - Sundown (Original Mix)

Energetic, driving techno from one of my favorite recent discoveries out of germany, Oblast.
download: Wat - Missile (Oblast Remix)

This is the song playing in the back of my head when I look at the picture for this post..

Dream On

Gigamesh's new All My Life EP on French fashion house/record label Kitsuné is some serious heat. Ranging from sun-soaked nu disco, to moments of almost-psychedelic dream pop, this release really has it all. Aside from the title track, this B side "Dream On" is probably my favorite one off the EP. Check it out below and be sure to head over to Beatport for the full release.
download: Gigamesh - Dream On (Original Mix)

This next track comes off of another equally amazing release. Mat Zo's The Sky EP on Anjunabeats is plain old incredible, and shows him exploring the interplays between classical trance and various other sub-genres on the electronic music spectrum. The EP comes with two mixes of the track - the club mix, which is absolutely huge and takes the song in a Nicky Romero face-melting electro direction, and the chiller Extended Mix, which is my choice of the two. Beatport it for the full ra-leece.
download: Mat Zo - The Sky feat. Linnea Schossow (Extended Mix)

Everybody loves some new Disclosure. Well, this one isn't quite new, but I bet you haven't heard it. An obscure edit of Q-Tip (of Tribe Called Quest fame)'s solo effort 'Work It Out'. Half Fidget house, Half bass-twerked electro, and completely freakin' booty shaking.
download: Q-Tip - Work It Out (Disclosure Booty Call Edit)

More hip hop influence, this time on the deep house side of things with a classique from Adana Twins and Doctor Dru. RIP Biggie...
download: Adana Twins & Doctor Dru - Juicy Fruit (Original Mix)

Also thank you Heidi for dropping this SUPER MEGA RIDICULOUS BOMB-of-a-track during her set on BBC the other week..This release is about to be a straight dancefloor murderer (drops first week of June)..

Mas music coming later today..

Pretty much the perfect morning song.

Smooooth Miami vibes from the Soul Clap bros.
download: Laid Back - Cocaine Cool (Soul Clap Dub Mix)

Banging big room house from Deniz Koyu, who's probably one of the most underrated progressive house djs out there.
download: Deniz Koyu - Magnitude (Original Mix)

90S. WAREHOUSE. JAGUAR. RAVE. TRAX.
download: JAGUAR TRAX - All I Dream (Hard Edit)

In the immortal words of the chemical brothers, "Don't Think": just let this velvet collage of grooves wash over you. Courtesy of a dude who always seems to have the lushest analog synths around, Nico Purman.

Back To The Beat That Repeats | Megapost

FUTURE/TECHNO
I've basically been tracking down all the most demented, Gesaffelstein-eque future techno that I can get my hands on recently, and one really intriguing artist I've come across in the process is Oblast. This release by them is diabolical and thumping in all the ways that make it entirely appropriate for a dark & lazer-filled room somewhere at 4AM. Check out the full 'ACT 1' EP on beatport: released by Mikix The Cat's Parisian-based ADD Cat imprint.
download: Oblast - Breakdown (Original Mix)

An epic 13 minute techno masterpiece here, straight from the brain of Detroit's resident mad scientist Carl Craig.
download: Cut Copy - Need You Now (Carl Craig Remix)

All you need to know: I grabbed this bad boy of a track from the Gesaffelstein mix above. Bass + Techno =
download: Bubba - We Need A Break (Original Mix)

Up next are two really good Scissor Sister remixes I've acquired recently, but I haven't been able to decide which one is better. Right now I'm leaning towards the Boys Noize effort, those super sharp synths that wash across the track at around 3:30 are Boys Noize at his electro-tech best.
download: Scissor Sisters - Invisible Light (Boys Noize Remix)

download: Scissor Sisters - Only The Horses (Brodinski Remix)

Off of that free Alex Metric EP that he released a month or two ago, this one is a track that I dig more and more every new time I hear it. 'Rave Weapon' collides elements of UK Bass with rapid fire 90s rave stabs and Metric's own impeccably clean production skills.. what more could you ask for?
download: Alex Metric - Rave Weapon (Original Mix)

download: Sound Pelligrino Thermal Team \ Tony Senghore - Bassface (Tony Senghore Remix)

GET DEEP AND FREAK
Hot Since 82 continues to make a name for himself as a deep house magician capable of crafting all sorts of weird late night shenanigan inducing soundwaves. This remix of Chris James is simply next level.
download: Chris James - Nothing Else Matters (Hot Since 82)

Amine Edge impresses us more and more with every new production. This one.. well.. KNOCKS.
download: Spf 5000 - Doorknocker (Amine Edge & DANCE Remix)

Beautiful and funkadelic at the same time, this John Johr dub is a straight up anthem.. I'm in love. From one of our favorite labels around, Culprit LA.
download: Lee Curtiss - Candy feat. Matt Tolfrey (John Johr Dub)

download: Miami Ice - The Way You (Original Mix)

Chris James (1/2 of Coat of Arms alongside Eats Everything) is a dude we've been watching develop for a while now, and this 'retwist' shows him really coming into his own as a producer. this track is an absolute BOMB, and all we can say is we can't wait to see what the dude cooks up next. Find Chris on facebook and beatport.
download: Markus Anthony - Distant Memory (Chris James Retwist)

Old School (think: +5 years old) driving and brooding Dubfire at the pinnacle of what makes his sound so addicting. The breakdown from 3:45-5:00 is pretty much guaranteed to bring the house down any time during any set anywhere in the world...
download: Unkle - Hold My Hand (Dubfire Remix)

One of my favorite tracks from this entire post. That lead synth/bass line is so simple yet incredibly effective at the same time.
download: Nobody Knows - Hundred Trys (Original Mix)

Ghetto Kraviz is a track we've been in love with for a while now. Along with Nina Kraviz. When Jamie Jones dropped this edit of her anthem at Ultra this year though, it was waaaay fatter than we ever could have imagined. On the right sound system (aka a really fucking loud one), the bass here is simply out of control. Go to right before the 4:00 minute mark to get a feel for where Jamie mixed in and how banging the bass was; the track really takes off from there.
download: Nina Kraviz - Ghetto Kraviz (Amine Edge Edit)

Another track where the bass gets more and more devastating the louder you play it, this one is some top notch deepness from one of my favorite labels Gruuv. The Audiojack remix is money as well, check the full release on Beatport.
download: S.K.A.M. - Rush Hour (Original Mix)

H.O.S.H. is another dude who I've gotten super into lately, pretty much everything his name is attached to is guaranteed to be D.O.P.E.
download: Adultnapper - Idiot Fair feat. Black Light Smoke (H.O.S.H. And The Deer Dub)

Bouncing tech house straight outa 2008. Booty Shake Weapon.
download: Worthy - Work The Walls (Magik Johnson's Shake The Walls Remix)

Bonus
These next two don't really fit into either of the two categories above, but are nonetheless quite fresh in their own right. 'Sex' is sleazy electrofunk at it's most chilled out, while the Wax Motif effort is just a bit of really solid electro.
download: Slugabed - Sex (Original Mix)

download: Chromeo - Night By Night (Wax Motif Remix)

It's really been a breakout year for Disclosure.  This south London duo has really started gaining ground quickly in the electronic music world with their amazingly clean production abilities and knack for taking a beautiful vocal track and creating a stunning harmonic landscape around it.  They recently put out a mix for Fact Mag and it's a truly impeccable collage of some of the best deep house releases of the last several months.  I wish all mixes were of this quality.  Stream it, check the tracklist, and download it for free below.
