Weekend Selector: Take a Hit Get Clipped

What better way to start off the weekend than in the deep end? First up we have this absolute bomb of a track from Maceo Plex's own Ellum Audio "Sleazy Riders Collection" that comes out just in time for Miami. Head over to Beatport to scope the full compilation, the other efforts are definitely worth checking out, my two picks in particular being the Lukatron and Sync Mode trax. If you're in Chicago tonight, Maceo Plex himself is playing alongside our favorite beatsmith all the way from Bristol, Eats Everything, at Spybar, be sure to make it down there if you're not headed over to the Mid for the Bromance tour.
download: Maceo Plex - Deez Nuts (Original Mix)

Get loose. Each release on leftroom seems to be bigger than the last. If you're gonna be in Miami next week, wednesday has a bunch of absolutely ridiculous parties (more on that in our official guide) but Culprit vs Leftroom is definitely one of our picks. The lineup ranges from bristol bass-ers Waifs & Strays to Lee Foss, Laura Jones, Droog, Inxec, Jozif, and the man behind this next track, Gavin Herlihy... Yeah, you could say "stacked."
download: Gavin Herlihy - Get Loose

Huxley is a dude I've really been getting into more and more recently. This track in particular is an all time effort from him full of swinging bass and classic piano stabs.
download: Huxley - Shower Scene

Kris Wadsworth with that bass that 'chu need.

Deetron taking a bit more of a techno approach here, but still sprinkles on his typical amount of swiss melodic magic like only he knows how. This one really takes off in the second half. Like, really takes off.
download: Simon Garcia - Train In Vain (Deetron's Slave To The Rave)

A massive Casino Times remix of the new Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs single.. pretty much a combination guaranteed to lead to amazingness, this one is deeper than a lot of TEED's stuff but manages to really hit the spot. Can't wait for the full release on April 2nd.

Not So Deep
If you're like me and have been playing the youtube version of this song countless times over the past couple days, this mp3 will come as a godsend.. Full 320 quality. If you're in Chicago tonight and looking for something a little (lot) higher energy than the deep shenanigans at Spybar be sure to check out Brodinski & Gesaffelstein at the Mid.
download: Lana Del Ray - Blue Jeans (Gesaffelstein Remix)

Acid? Acid.

The name says it all. Rave like its 1992. Out now on Cheap Thrills.
download: Housesquare - Old Gem (Original Mix)

A bit older, this one came out earlier in the spring courtesy of the French teenage prodigy Madeon... sunshine vibes all the way through.
download: Madeon - Icarus (Extended Mix)

I have to say I'm not usually a fan of mashups at all, but our DC homeboy Sean Johnson sent over his classic rock vs progressive house mashup pack the other day and something about these tracks is really awesome. This Tristan Garner vs The Police's Roxanne is my personal favorite from the bunch, just a ton of energy and fun.. Head over to his facebook page to grab the other two bootlegs for free as well.
download: Tristan Garner vs The Police - Punxanne (Sean Johnson & Third Culture Bootleg)

An incredible remix package on Joakin's newest single... literally each one is so good I can't pick a favorite.

download: Laidback Luke, Arno Cost, Norman Doray - Trilogy (Swanky Tunes Remix)

download: Autoerotique - Bring That Beat Back (Tiesto Edit)

EROL VS ALEX (boys noize).

Can't wait for this next one to come out on Revealed recordings. No_ID are a group you should get familiar with, the dutch duo has been getting attention by everyone from Hardwell to Axwell recently..

Sunday Funday

So I was djing a party the other night when somebody came up to ask me what song I was playing, and it made me realize that I have a bunch of HUGE songs that I've been planning on posting here but for one reason or another haven't gotten around to. Here are some of them. A few are a little old, but they're all absolutely awesome so grab them below.  If you're curious first one is the song that I was asked about..

Download: Madison - Hot Hot Love (Kids At The Bar Remix)

Download: Marina & The Diamonds - Radioactive (Tom Staar Remix)

Download: Starkillers & Dimity KO - Do U Love (Original Mix)

Download: The Immigrant - Summer Of Love (Tommy Trash Remix)

Download: Tiesto - Work Hard, Play Hard feat. Kay (Original Mix)

BONUS
I grabbed this one from our homies over at GDD, and it's thoroughly wonderful. Perfect for lounging by the pool or chilling on a sunny day. Summertime vibes all the way through on this one.
Download: Wiz Khalifa - This Plane (Viceroy Jet Life Remix)

Yes or Not

Two of the Netherlands most exciting talents, Tiesto and Hardwell, combine their strengths on this MASSIVE, still unreleased tune to make a progressive sounding dutch masterpiece with more raw energy in it than a nuclear bomb. This is a radio rip, since the track isn't released anywhere, but the quality is better than just about any radio rip I've ever heard. This track isn't set to be released for more than a month, so help yourself to a serving of unreleased epicness.
Tiesto & Hardwell - Zero 76 (Original Mix)

Felix Da Housecat's most recent production clearly shows him trying to take his sound in a new direction. While the familiar, rave-leaning hi hat heavy sound of Felix is still present on Zaman, the track is clearly an attempt to imitate the big room sound we've come to expect out of artists like Kaskade and Laidback Luke. I think Felix succeeds for the most part, considering I find the song highly enjoyeable, but still it's a little disconcerting to see one of the games oldest and most respected names trying to warp his sound to conform to the contemporary vogue. Either way, this one is huge and it deserves to be bumped as soon as possible from your speakers.
Felix Da Housecat pres. Thee Nese Djouma Projesi - Zaman (Club Mix)

You might remember we posted Lazy Rich's remix of the Porter Robinson single Wildcat. You might also remember that the remix was multiple levels of badass. At the time, you probably thought that the reason we were giving you this remix must've been that the original itself by mr Robinson must've been somehow deficient. Not so. In fact, the original single itself hadn't been released yet, but it was released recently and it's even more of a banger than the Lazy Rich remix. Porter robinson reaffirms here why he's one of the fastest growing names in electronic music, and all signs point to that he's here to stay.
Porter Robinson - The Wildcat (Original Mix)

The Parisian madman known as Danger has released another remix, this time of the dubstep leaning group Nero. When I first saw the combination I thought it would be an interesting match, considering the two artists' preponderance for a darker, harder-edged sound. The track delivers on the darker edge of the spectrum, as the opening grinding electro chords suggest, but the track quickly develops into a more melodic, bouncy, french filter house sounding tune. Overall it's a seriously worthwhile effort from one of the most mysterious producers in the game.
Nero - Me & You (Danger Remix)

Sultan & Ned Shepard strike gold again here, crafting an epic remix that retains all of their big room sound while introducing a really interesting streak of electro-house to balance it out. I really love this direction of their sound, hopefully we get to see more of it. The drop around the 3:00 mark really pulls everything together.
Thomas Sagstad - Meiri (Sultan & Ned Shepard Remix)

I don't like Rihanna, so if I'm posting a remix of her, it's a pretty solid indication that the track is really good. That's exactly the case here as Dave Aude uses plucking strings and a trancey progressive feel to give this track a complete makeover.
Rihanna - S & M (Dave Aude Club Mix)

Le Troublant Acid is, as the name would suggest, an Acid House song. But it's probably an Acid House song like you've never heard before, considering it restrains the normally frenetic acid sound within the tight, filtered parameters of a french-house sensibility. The result is a dreamy, Daft Punk sounding track that's perfect for a relaxed day at the beach. I found out about it through this review, in which RA gave it a 4.0/5.
KZA - Le Troublant Acid

Deep
All of the tracks from here on out are about to be overwhelmingly, soul-movingly deep, so if deeper, techier sounds aren't your thing, consider yourself warned.

Personally I think this one could do without the vocals, but it's still got an irresistibly catchy groove and an awesome, rhythmic feel that begs to be blasted out of a huge soundsystem.
D.O.N.S. & Shahin feat. Seany B. - Rollin' Deep

Rule # 4080: Tribal drums and a sexy woman's voice are always a winning combination.
Bastian van Shield - King Of My Castle (Original Mix)

Found this one in a DJ set Umek played in Poland. So, yeah, it's completely nuts. The vocal sample and the pounding techno vibe make this one a must have. Here's the set if you're interested.
Alex Di Stefano - Yes or Not (Original Mix)

So Much For Jumping Out of Planes

I was all set on sky diving today. I woke myself up, braved the pain that is known as "2 hours of sleep and a hangover from hell," all with the intentions of making the several-hour drive out to the beach to hurl myself from an airplane. But apparently mankind hasn't figured out how to control the weather yet, because as of now my plans are on hold due to thunder storms. Lucky for you, that means I've got nothing better to do than throw you the fresh set of tunes I had planned on bumping in my car on the drive today.

We'll start slow and build up the energy in this post. This first track is a chill remix by Mr. Flash, who's one of the less-known members of the uber-badass Ed Banger Record Label.

Darwin Deez - Up In The Clouds (Mr. Flash Remix)

I don't know who Nuke Dukem is, but he has a fuckin awesome name...

Two Door Cinema - What You Know (Nuke Dukem's "Dreamy" Remix)

I know everyone's heard like 12 billion remixes of Friendly Fires' "Paris," but i promise you this one is worth taking the time to listen to. It's got the most delicious set of vocals that really complete the song in a way that none of the other versions do, if you ask me.

Friendly Fires vs Aeroplane vs Flight Facilities - I Crave Paris

Next up is some tracks from Vodka & Milk. They're a legit group from LA who make some tight remixes and have a name almost as cool as Bright & Shiny. First up is a Tupac remix (errbody love Tupac remixes..) and then a remix of some song I've never heard of.

Tupac - Do For Love (Vodka & Milk Remix)

U-N-I - Land of The Kings (Vodka & Milk Remix)

Here's your daily dose of Tiesto. This song is absolutely sick.

Bloc Party - One More Chance (Tiesto Remix)

Rule number 674.. Avicii's productions are straight retarded

Robyn - Hang With Me (Avicii Edit)

The 2000 has been making some cool remixes for a while now. I had the pleasure of seeing him play on Ibiza this summer and he definitely didn't disappoint. The only words that come to my mind to describe this next song are "bonkers" and "electro"

Carte Blanche - Gare Du Nord (The 2000 rmx)

The more I listen to this Mustard Pimp character the more I like him. You should feel the same way because he's sweet. This song just begs "play me very loud"... I think you know what to do

Mustard Pimp - Telesiege

HOMEWORK

Alright, you know the deal. Turn it up as loud as possible and see if you've been paying attention enough in class to complete this week's homework assignment.

Don Rimini - All About

Clockwork - Airflow (Original Mix)
